Thanks for your comments Tuhin. From memory the tripod was lowered so that camera was around knee height, the waves were regularly washing around tripod's (and my) feet. I also took some shots from on top of that rock and others as well which also gave other results. |

What a great city-scape Tim. The squarish format forces us to concentrate on the construction going on. Skies and reflections in buildings always look great. And taken from a floating ferry as well. Great image. |

Yes Peter, what a great sunrise image. From the construction of this image, and your processing, I'm guessing that you were at this location with a mission in mind. Great preparation and planning. |

I love the tones and colors in this image Darryl, the cold colors in the foreground and lack of colors in the background really give a sense of bleakness in this area. The viaduct and its detail give a great focal point in the image. |

Is this the month for F7.1??? You guys got any plans for next month? Sherry's processing has certainly given the midground some punch, but has that then caused the foreground grasses to be over-cooked a little?? One question please David; Have you shot this from a lowered viewpoint? To me, about the bottom inch of the image seems out of focus, then everything sharpens up, which makes me ask about the nearest focusing distance of your lens? Other than that, a great image. |

Great image Sherry. So much for our eyes to see and roam around in. Right amount of foreground and background, good colors and viewpoint. F7.1?? Yes clarity is ok, but I would have gone for 22 or higher depending on the lens and conditions. You will just have to go back and do it again. |

Thanks Jay. Seascapes are becoming a favorite of mine & my preferred shutter speed is around 1/2 second or so. It gives me just enough movement in the water that I prefer. |

Thanks for your comments Tyler. It is always such hard work getting out of bed so early for these photos, but when God turns the colors on and the camera is firing, it is so worthwhile & satisfying. I even took a handful with my "phone" to text to some friends to show them what they missed. Their replies were not very polite. |

Thanks Trey, I have much work ahead of me because as I mentioned to Sanford, on this particular morning I bagged about 70 images. |

Good pickup Sanford, shutter speed was 1/4 sec. Thanks for your comments, yes 1 or 2 steps to the left would have produced a different image/angle, but for this one I wanted to keep the foreground rocks central. This particular morning I took about 70 or so images, from various locations around and on the rocks. Maybe some will appear in future months. |

In my humble opinion Tyler, this will not be your last portrait. B&W photos rely heavily on tones that are present, and this one is quite strong. Keep the good work coming Tyler, but don't forget that Nikon !!!! |

You wanted a composition showing light and dark Jorn, and you certainly got one. Yes a person would have provided an extra interesting element, but we can only wait so long. How about a tripod, 10 second exposure delay and Jorn jumps into the frame? That would be an interesting selfie. But I'm not sure if you would get that silhouette effect. It's great that we can all offer our differing thoughts, because I respectfully and politely disagree with Cyndy on this one. Sorry Cyndy. To me,the floor/path gives the image or wall a base to sit on. Nothing wrong with Cyndy's comments or altered image, but I feel Jorn's is more complete and doesn't leave me asking "What is below this wall?" Maybe crop half the floor off, but that is just a minor detail. |

How different is this !!! A fairly "normal or usual" image has been changed into something original and individual. I bet no other photographers got an image like this one that day. While I applaud Trey and his "grungies", this is similar in that artistic vein, but is sufficiently individual. Keep the creativity coming please Jay. |

What a strong final image Sanford. We can certainly feel the ancient quarter that you have captured. By cropping off quite a bit of the unnecessary foreground you are making those people more prominent in the image, while nothing of importance has been lost due to that cropping. The colors are great as are the textures in the buildings. Great image. |

Thanks Cyndy, this is my favourite beach for sunrise shoots, there are so many rock formations I could go there every morning and come away with different images. This sunrise had some of the best colors I've had for quite a while. Sadly, my processing skills are not the strongest yet, so while I appreciate composites very much, I'm yet to learn how to do them. That will be my aim for this year. Watch this space. |

I apologise for my initial loading of your photos wrong way around this month Trey, all fixed now. You guys had cold, snow & ice in February, while we cooked in temps well into the 40s C. That's mid 90's+ F. This image is very well constructed with no annoying stems or distractions. As Cyndy said, great DOF forces us to look at those ice covered berries. Background adds to the whole image and gives a good sense of the environment. The vignette also is a great inclusion to hold our eyes from wandering out of the edges. Great job. |

Great final image Cyndy. Your processing has done your vision justice. All your actions have resulted in a very strong image. Good cropping, good color, nice and sharp where it needs to be. Simple yet strong. Very well done indeed. My pick for image of the month. |
