A fine image Tuhin, but I find myself asking many questions. Great sky of course, but those variegated colors on the mountains and on the far side? I would have thought f2.8 would have given a shallow dof, but the foreground rocks and very distant mountains are both adequately sharp? Time of night & ISO 6400 may account for this, but I'm not sure? But still a fine image. |

This is a great image Peter. You have handled shooting into the sun just out of frame to the left very well. But I have a question, the sky area behind the 2 uppermost blooms seems empty of cloud detail, while I would be expecting to see some texture there. Or am I just being super picky? Also that jet-trail, while it balances the stem, does it enhance the image? It was there and so were you. Still a great image. Even changing to a panorama format by taking some of the base off, the broken white leaf pointing to the bottom right is also pointing to a lone white stem protruding from the sand. Take the base off just above that and you have a strong panorama, as an additional alternate image. |

Washed out ??? I beg to differ Tim. To me, this is superb, the colors of the marble construction, the skin tones of the young woman in the center, the gold statues and even the carry bag the lady in the background is holding, all look good and realistic. I think you are being a bit harsh on yourself. |

Great composition and presentation David. The panorama format suits this very well and I like the amount of empty water on the right hand side, just enough. |

A great image Sherry. Shame about your disappointment with the D600. To get from the original image to this one, you have done very well. I'm going to give everyone a huge shock now, while my Sony is still my camera of choice, late last year I had the opportunity to pick up a "spare" camera for an absolute bargain. It might be a bit of a dinosaur, but I'm busting to get cracking with it,,,,a Nikon D2X !!!
You can all stop laughing now and just watch this space. |

I'm sorry to say that I don't use Topaz. I have seen it used many times but have never gotten around to it myself. However Jay, I do fully recommend you look into downloading NIK Filters. They are provided by Google free of charge (down here) and are brilliant. They entire suite consists of 5 sets of filters but I just mainly use 2 sets; Color Effects for color photos & Silver Effects for B&W's. |

I would tie it back out of the frame with a piece of string at the time of capture as my first option. |

Yes, looking at that leaves in the bottom now I see where you are coming from. However their lines are subtle, while the stem is a very strong line. |

What a great image Jorn. A photo like this gives the viewer a glimpse into someone else. The book titles, the photos and those little items we collect over time reveal a person's nature. Trey & Cyndy are correct with their comments about framing, but I don't think there is anything wrong with this image, you have done very well. "Book arranging?" Sorry Trey & Cyndy, but I respectfully disagree. This is Jorn's bookshelf, not one from a state library. This image, to me, is the image of the month. It tells me a lot about Jorn, but also has me asking questions. This image & I are having a real good talk together. |

A good capture Sanford. I agree with Cyndy, the colors seem a little un-natural. The cropping is just a little too tight for me, I would have left the entire bright branch they are standing on, to give the image a "base". Also just give the overall image a little breathing room. |

A great image Jay. I love the composition and use of the angles. Cyndy's use of Topaz certainly does give the image a lot more punch. |

A thousand pardons for my error Cyndy, I have swapped the images and they should correct shortly. A superb product or advertising image. Great thought out concept, well constructed and the PP in my opinion is just right. |

Great image Trey. It's excellent to see people step out of their comfort zone, because personally I feel that is when we start to grow in our photography. Go back a few months in our group and have a look at my old infra red. Your turn now, go for it!!! With this image, the colors and treatment are great, composition is good but that other stem in the top left doesn't help the image. Overall well done. |

Thanks Cyndy. I thought about some scratches and spots, but decided for this one I'd like to keep it clean. |

Thanks Trey. Yes it would be a great view from that balcony, but it is now private property. I never even saw that tv antenna myself, thanks for pointing it out. Just goes to show we should all have a close critical look around our images. |
