Tuhin, some ideas for cold weather and long exposures. Please forgive if already using. Cold weather position your car so you can use the open window sill and closed car door to help stabilize the camera. Stick your hand between the car door and your camera until you have the shot framed just right. The other technique is to hold the camera with your elbows against your chest, take a deep breath and slowly exhale when slowly clicking the shutter. Doing this with a normal lens, you can easily shoot at 1/30 of a second. |

Peter, don't worry about the level of the picture. Only use the vertical lines and they suggest the picture is just right. Horizontal lines can not be trusted especially when you are using a road receding into the distance. The trees sticking up through the fog just to the right of center bother me. I think they distract from the mountain. As I look at the picture, my eyes go from the near lower left to the mountain, I don't think they should stop at the trees mentioned above. |

Ian, I would have cropped the bottom of the picture to get rid of the water bits and pieces, yet kept the reflection as is. The bits and pieces distract from he beauty of the shot. |

Now you know why I'm a fan of zoom lenses. With one, you can get your best position first, then adjust the zoom and make camera adjustments as needed if shooting manually. Lacking that, I would have sat on the wall around the water and moved closer or further away as you choose. The crane doesn't bother me. You are in a city and it is a landscape. If you take toooo much out, the picture starts looking sterile. |

David, what an opportunity for you. Since the horses are all facing one direction, I'd move so that the rear end of the horse on the right would be closer to the right margin. Keep the rest as is. Lucky you could be there with the right weather and right sun position |

OK, so Iceland, huh? where is the ice and how did they dig the graves? I like your shot like it is, period. If you want ideas, I'd move to your right and get the back end of the church closer to the left margin. |

Many thanks for your insightful thoughts.
I considered doing it in B&W, but I like the contrasting colors. As a former aviator, I'm partial to jet streams - sorry. After everything cleared, I took a drone video at the edge of our complex. Firefighters started a back fire and saved our butts. In the video, note how the burned area looks like a moon landscape and then you get the contrast of full color of what was saved.

No software yet. Yes I'm aware of the importance of getting off my duff and using it. Instead I've been concentrating on my drone flying skills. The drone software has difficulties with tree leaves. So much of my flying needs to be manual. I generally do a shoot, review it and go back with an understanding of my goofs .One lesson was to start the video tape after I start flying the pattern, not get it going before.Same, but in reverse stopping it. |

Peter, your moving from one shot to another reminds me of someone giving a speech with visual slides packed with words. I don't have time to absorb the image before it changes. Slides full of words need to be read before listening to the speaker. Oriental meditation works much more meaningfully. The guru speaks slowly with powerful words. Try being slower with powerful images. |

Jerkyness was solved on my drone by following the manual for the correct micro chip to put into the drone. Problem is the RC cannot process in massive recording as quickly, thus jerkiness happens. I like what you have done to incorporate audio and the framing. As regards the framing, you may want to drop it after a short time. Imagine watching a movie with the framing always there. |

Peter,
I think you are right. I had moved it along because I thought people might get bored if I didn't.
