Hi Kieu-Kanh, beautiful butterfly. That is great timing to see it just coming out of the cocoon. I like the branch on the left, the flower is out of place to me. Maybe a bit more saturation. But butterflies are always beautiful. |

Beautiful shot, love the editing to bring out the contrast and the details of the aspen trees. The path thru the tress is inviting and the contrast of your husbands clothing with the surroundings helps. I'm not fond of the edit that made his clothes match the background, but maybe if his clothes were all black for all red (no green) might work. The florescent green is a bit jarring, tell him to wear bright red next time lol |

Beautiful Iguana... he looks formidable. Seems like you were pretty close to him too. I agree with everyone it would be better if his surrounding were a bit blurred to show him off, but it's hard to get animals to pose on a neutral background like we want! lol
I have an iguana photo with his mouth open, but of course he blends in with the background too much so it doesn't work very well. |

The shapes in your photo are the story for me. I think the abstractness is the key. I like the sky and I like your panoramic crop. I do think the color works better than the black and white, and both photos need a some more contrast. I just did that really quickly on my iPad... |

Beautiful cardinal! I love how the bird is looking right at the camera, and before I read any of the comments, I thought to myself, aren't you supposed to see the subjects eye? But I don't necessarily think you do for this photo. Beautiful background and the simple tree branch. Nice.
Let me know about your Zine too! I love photo Zines! |

Thank you everyone for your comments, I do hope to work on this idea more, and let me know if any of you finds a split screen idea that works too. Happy New Year! |

thanks Ruth, yes the conversation has been interesting. I think I had a good idea, but need a better subject and the two sides need to connect. Work in progress. |

thanks Randolph... let me know if you do find a split scree that works. I keep looking too. I did increase the exposure a bit on the left, but only a bit, I didn't spend too much time on it. that would help a bit |

The masked man and unmasked women were intriguing to me also Luann, that's why I chose this couple. |

Thank you Kieu-Hanh, I think it's a cool idea, but you are correct the two different sides need to connect somehow. |

Thank you for visiting our group Stephen, and thank you for the comments. I really liked the right side and was trying to find something to do with it. My presence caused the people to look at me and not the window so much. |

Thank you Michael, I appreciate your honest comments. Yes I can see how the art pieces would seem to be the subject. I need to find a situation where both sides of the split compliment each other. |

Great sky, fun composition. I agree with Lou that you need some more details in the foreground and overall the image is a little dark. Are they playing on the field? Nice job by you as well all year. A great series of beautiful aerial landscapes. |

Beautiful Lou... great purples and yellows and sunrise coloring. Reflections and detail in the bridge, you can see the cars crossing. The factory in the background gives the bridge connection to its surroundings. Nicely done.
Awesome job by you this year also, great images. You have a great series of bridges, probably enough for a book or calendar series. |

The crop from the original is really good, I like the squaring off of the image. I do like that there is a lot going on here, from the house to the outbuilding, to the rusty tank. Do you have any from a lower angle? Looking into the windows of the house from a lower angle, while still looking at the surrounding environment may give a nice creepy feeling (lol).
I think the B&W might look better with a lot more contrast... but I do appreciate the browns of the rusty tank.
Great job as always Bob with your decrepit old house series... might be fun to see a few triptychs with some of your favorites. |
