I've used an inexpensive low-end Canon Speedlight... I'll look for one of those photos

Little perspective tilt... and that got rid of the notch in the aisle that was bothering me.... |

Thank you Randolph, and he sat on that plant for a long time. And sunset helped. |

Thank you Ruth. This is cropped quite a bit from the original... I should have included it. I was at the end of the 600mm on the lens too. |

Thank you for the info on the dragonfly. I was wondering which version it was. I had no idea how many there were! |

Thank you LuAnn... I have to remember to do sharpening and noise reduction on my photos. It seems to be the most suggested on most of my photos. |

Welcome to the group Mary Ann. Great capture! I try to get photos of the hummingbirds in my backyard, but I don't have those great flowers to get into the composition. I have used my basic on-camera flash to add some light. I haven't graduated to off-camera flash and all of that yet. So if you have a basic flash, it will help a little bit to keep the ISO and the noise down. Good luck! |

Very pretty flower, great texture on the petals. I would be curious to see the edit before the painterly effect also. Is it only on the background or on the flower also?

Great capture and great edit. I think the log adds to the story of the forest. It should be a winner! |

This is a Wow photo. What a great piece of art. And definitely a different way to show the crucifix that I have never seen. I liked Ruth's suggestion of showing the top of the arch. So i did a crop that shows the arch and the art... |

Hi Mary Sue, I think your image is very peaceful and inviting. I feel that the marble columns on the right are distracting to me... I'm wondering what is beyond them. I cropped the photo a bit to lose those and to me, it feels like a cozier space now. |

And I do have a question after reading some more of your explanation.... You said you edited this in November 2017 and that you have learned so much about editing since then. Does that mean this edit is from that time? Or is it a new edit? If not, have you considered editing from scratch again? See if you come to the same type of edit or something new? |

Hi, Wow the comments on here! Your edited photo is fantastic, so amazing how we can process our photos so well. I love your story telling and your explanation of your process. Thanks for always trying to educate and to pull out more information from us posters too! |

This is a great photo, close to perfect like Bob said and frame it like Tony suggested. I think the highlights might be a tad too hot, but other than that it is a great capture. Nicely done. |

This is a great still from the video. The sky is unfortunately that white winter sky. Do you edit the videos using LUTs or anything in LR? |

I love the video, such a great sense of place. You inspire me to try to do more video, but my controls are very shaky still. I need to work on that and add more video here.
Had you taken any drone workshops or classes? If Bob or Lou read this, feel free to answer too. I've watched tons of youtube how-to videos, but I haven't taken a class or workshop. I would really like to. If any of you have and could recommend any, let us know. |

You have such great ruins around your home! Great sky too. I would like to see the ruins without the shadows from the trees? or other buildings there. Since you said you should have shot a still image, I think you need to go back! |

Thanks Lou, yep, more "straight" is what I meant. I like the line of trees on the left three houses too. Shapes and textures and colors are what I look for. |

I mean the "proper angle" for me. Of course there is no real proper angle, but like Lou said below, I would like it more straight, more overhead. I'd like to take this photo closer to dark too, to see all the house lighting. |
