Thanks Ruth, I like the edit you posted, thanks for the info. I haven't done the black and white with any of them. Part of what I like in the photos is the bright colors, geometric shapes and the run-down nature of the buildings. |

Here is the same building on a different day, with blue sky.... not sure I like it any better with sky. I prefer the starkness. It is a slightly different perspective too. |

very nice, don't get me wrong, I like the wonky... I just wasn't sure if it was real or added... I like it.

Yes unfortunately it is abandoned. A lot of the stores in this town are. I have a series of them printed to show next month at a small museum here in State College, PA. I actually do like the starkness of the sky in this one. Most of the others in this series have blue sky or clouds. I will try to process this one again and see if putting some mood there works. Thanks! |

Love this scene, the blue hour is beautiful and great sky. The bike is phenomenal and the lit arches are great. I'm not sure I like the crop because I like the reflection on the right that gets cropped out. Also, have you done a perspective warp on the photo? Maybe it's just me, but the buildings seem a bit wonky? It's a great image nonetheless. |

I like the blue border idea, I probably should try that too. Great colors and subject. I thought it was a reflection when I first looked at it. I like how the grid of the frame isn't extremely visible. There were some chinese lanterns at an exhibit I went to last month, but the grid extremely intrusive. Nice job |

Beautiful pose and reflection... I agree that I would cut off the top of the photo, just leaving the reflections of the bushes and branches. |

Love the snow family, but I agree that they are a little dark and soft. |

Great textures and colors and lighting. The scene at the far end looks like a painting. Great exposure all over. |

I love the sculpture (Calder?) in the foreground and how its orange color works with the sun warming up the bottom of the building. And how the top of the building is blue like the sky. Nice color scheme. I do like Kieu-hanh's crop also. |

Hi Richard!
I'm visiting from DD group 3 and 85.... I saw the Street group and thanks to the beautiful yellow of the bridge, I recognized where this was, my hometown! I love all the lines and the textures and the compression of the compression of the buildings and the bridge. And the girl with her striped sweater adds greatly. Nice work. |

Great photo, great colors. I like the dredging boat, and would like to see it closer. The reflections in the water and the colors in there are intriguing. I think cropping in on the top on bottom of the photo, eliminating some excess sky and water would bring the subject closer too. |

It's sad when perfectly fine homes are torn down and gutted for no good reason. I have a preference for old buildings myself.
I might crop your photo differently, and add some saturation to the sky.... |

I don't think it translates very well to black and white. I did a quick edit to see, but I prefer the colors of the squares and the colors of the grass and ground.
