This a great travel photo... I would prefer to have seen the fountain up close, and lose the buildings on the left and right, keeping city hall in the middle of course.
I was intrigued by the name of the Fountain, also known as the Three Rivers Fountain. Since I'm from Pittsburgh, I was surprised to learn that Philadelphia had something named for Three Rivers also, so I did some research. I learned which 3 rivers they were referring to (2 rivers and a creek to be correct) and I learned the sculptor was Alexander Stirling Calder, the father of one of my favorite sculptors. And since I'm going to Philadelphia this weekend, I'll plan on seeing the fountain in person! Thanks for the impetus to do the research! |

Great composition, love the black and white. I agree with the others on the lack of detail in the petals, but still a great photo. |

Very interesting flower, great capture. I agree a little off-center might be better compositionally. And a little more detail in the darker areas. |

Love the colors and the rust. Reminds me of old industrial photos by Lewis Hine and Walker Evans. |

Love the sunburst between the flowers. I don't think it is distracting at all, I love seeing the actual rays of the sun and then the muted sky shot. |

Yes, I loved the uniformity of the building and the different arrangements on the balconies too. The green chimney on the building in the foreground is distracting, but i thought every one of those balconies has to look out at that green chimney too. |
