All,
I've learned a lot from the comments received here. They got me thinking a little differently.
I did just buy a high quality 90mm lens that would have given a different perspective here and I'll be learning to use it for landscapes. I'm resisting buying a longer telephoto for the time being since I'm intent on having a small (and light) bag for everyday carrying.....
I'll try Arlington again when I get to DC.

My whole (almost) reason for the shot was to show the tombstones in both bright sunlight as well as shadows.
I'll take another look at the shots I took that day and see if one is a better example. |

Great HDR processing. I'm a sucker for strong color and dramatic details. The darkened ridge in Bob's version seems a bit too dark to my eye.
I also like the composition of the barn placement showing that plateau (or building) in the far right background. |

This is the only vertical I took at that spot. I've not done any cropping since I didn't think much of it. |

I like the B&W image since it sets a mood..........I appreciate the details behind the gate.....straightening not needed since the lines of the wall and the lines of the gate are not perfectly aligned........very nice image. |

I really am struck by this image, Jose. The structure and details of the surfaces are wonderful. I agree with Bob that the bright area could benefit with some attention. |
