Thanks Kaylyn..........that makes sense.
That would also test my ability to selectively edit that portion of the image... |

Thank you all for the nice welcome.
I took the image back into LR and found some further detail in the shadows..........I tried to avoid adding any more noise than necessary, but here it is. |

Thanks Jose
Based on the comments here, I'll find the time to take another look at pulling some detail out of the lower shadows.

Very nice............I'm a sucker for images that play with shadows..........I like the 2nd version slightly better. |

I like this shot because of the close details...It makes you stop and look closer as you might just pass it by with a glance.....out of focus rear boot not a problem........... |

What a fun image with all the color. I was surprised I can see only one person looking at her phone. :)
The only adjustment I'd consider is that the horizon might be very slightly off. |

Belinda,
I've come back to look at this a few times since you posted. I really like it. I like the drama of the color version, but in honesty, it is a bit too much.
I like the BW and might have added even more structure if I processed. I don't think the crop is necessary, as I enjoy as much detail and contrast as possible in a shot such as this.

Good thoughts.........this is especially dark given the black background of the PSA site...

Hi Albert,
I just joined the group and making my first try at this type of commentary.....
Overall, I love this scene, but the cloud cover makes it very difficult to come away with a photo worthy of hanging on a wall. When faced with an image like this, my default is to convert to B&W and use contrast to add drama.
My favorite area in the photo is the far right area of mountain silhouette with water in the foreground. I might try a heavy crop to remove the buildings in the center foreground. |
