I don't know ... I think the right crop depends on what story you want to tell. If it's about Detroit, I like your crop and I might like seeing more of what's on the right side to contrast the old buildings with the new. If it's about the bikers, perhaps a closer crop is better. Up to you. |

Awesome story of the teacher and the 2 girls.
Yes, the headless horseman bothers me but I think that can be cured by lowering the crop below his shoulders. Both men are there and our brains can relate. The one thing that I find most distracting is that the 2nd girl is mostly blocked by the the first. She has an intense look on her face and I think the story could be much stronger if we saw more of her. |

A beautiful chaos, everyone is doing their own thing. Great timing catching the sax player with cheeks puffed out, the left woman looking at the pooch the right woman stumbling around the pole.
I'm not bothered by the backpack; just the opposite, to me it shows me where the end of the frame is on that side. I'm also not bothered by the dog being a little soft. To me the main character is the sax player, the two main supporting actors are the women and the dog is there for comic relief. It all works for me. |

I love the story in this photo. The two veteran (aka "old men" <LOL>) fisherman are almost mirror images of each other. The lines created by the shadows lead my eye into the photo and create depth. Exposure and focus look spot on to me.
When I first look at the photo, my eye wants to go straight down the middle and then I'm glancing back and forth between the two men. That's distracting to me. I think if you picked one of them (the one on the right would be my pick because of the light on his face), I think you could still have a great story that is more focused. |
