Excellent story, Karen. I like how you captured her with her hand on the dog and looking down on them.
It looks to me like she fades into the background a little because of the similar tonal values. In the attached file I added a little brightness to her face using the adjustment brush and added a slight vignette around her and the dogs using the radial tool. The difference is subtle but I think it adds to the photo. How do you like it? |

Excellent story, Carol! The look of concentration on his face and body language tells it all.
One way you might be able to show more separation between the subject and the background is to darken the photo overall a little and use the adjustment bush to add brightness to the child a statue. In the attached file I reduced overall brightness by about 1/4 stop then added about 1/2 stop brightness to the child and statue. The difference is subtle but if you do a before/after comparison, it's noticeable. How do you like it? |

Kinky Boots, love it! I would not have known they posed for you if you didn't say something about it and asking for someone to pose is no crime in street photography. I like the composition from thigh level down. To me the exposure and focus is spot on. |

I like this composition very much. You captured the subject looking for something off to the side (his train?), which to me gives the photo a dynamic quality. I also like the motion blur of the passing train. It's enough to show motion but not so much that the train is a complete blur.
To me the whole photo has a green cast to it, which is distracting. Maybe white balance adjustment to fix? I think if you brightened the man just a little, that would add some detail to him and maybe make him more interesting. |
