I really enjoy that Don would prefer more of crop and Cindy would prefer less. I just had to LOL. We all get that often. The fun part is that all three of us are right. Here's my reasoning: Don, at first I did crop it tighter on the left but then I wanted to show the entire entrance hole, not just a piece of it, so I left it. Cindy, there's nothing above the machine that's I thought was of any interest and the essence of the old machine is there, so I left it like that.
Thanks for all your positive comments. The tour of the facility was fascinating to say the least.
I'm presenting this photo at my club meeting tonight as part of the Assigned Subject of "Things That Don't Work." The evaluators are from a local gallery. I'll post what they say about it.

To me the colors are sharp and multiple exposure adds a unique value to the photo. |

To me this is a compelling image. I like the focus on his eyes. I think think the tight crop adds to the story because in my mind the eyes are the doorway to the soul.
On my monitor there seems to be some red color cast on his face which I find distracting. |

I like the composition and the pose of the turtle. The reflection in the water adds a nice amount of depth to the photo IMO. |

I like the tight crop because it focuses my attention on the bee. Focus and exposure look very good to me.
The thick green stalk is distracting to me. I think that if you replaced it with a clone of the leaves behind it, the composition may be better. |

I like the concept of the sun rays and the coloration of the clouds. The focus looks sharp to me throughout.
When I first look at the photo I'm drawn to the bright sun and my eyes tend to fixate there. I think if you brought that down a little, my eyes might follow the sun rays to the right of the photo.
For sunrise, the blue in the sky looks too intense for my taste. I think if you muted the blue somewhat, it might look more natural. |
