One of my favorite landscapes subjects to shoot is waterfalls, which is why I loved Iceland. I love your angle on this one and the many twists, you've framed it nicely and so much interest to look at in every area. One of my favorite landscapes images of those you have submitted. Nicely done!! |

I'm going to put in a third vote for the color images. I know many really like BNW but I was very young when I first picked up and camera…film and only black and white. So when I returned to photography years later I was hooked on color and digital!! I think I. This case it shows off the landscape more effectively and draws me into the details. I unfortunately rarely process black and white so probably not the best person for advice. And I really do like the inclusion of the water. It has a nice reflection , I would crop it a small amount to just include the the entire reflection. |

Stunning image…l've yet to capture Northern Lights and still on my bucket list. I've been to Iceland and we did not get to see one any night we were there. I'm very jealous! Your image is dynamic and beautiful. Congrats!! |

Kudos , John. I think a bird is a first for you. My one piece of advice. when shooting any animal, and especially birds get your shutter speed above 1200. That's my lower limit if the bird is stationary. But nice shot for a novice! I also totally agree with Peter there are some things that come naturally to animal/bird photographers. and leaving room for them to move is one of them. But Im so pleased that you gave it a try!!! Congrats ....it really does get easier as you do it more often. Have a wonderful trip and happy holidays and a fabulous
New Year!

Stunning landscape that incorporates the beauty of nature, in particular the color of the sky enchants me....even though I know it must be frigid! just the name Anartica tells me all I need to know about the temperature! |

Thanks Peter, I'll ask the same question I did of Sarita...her feet are not visible even in the original, they are buried in the beginning of their nest...do you think just extending the crop at the bottom would suffice , no matter what I do the feet are not visible? |

Unfortunately the feet are buried in the sticks, this is their nest that is in the process of being "built" and the feet are not visible at all. She had just finished inserting a new stick. I actually have quit a it of space that I cropped off...do you think that just extending the crop despite no visible feet provides the "feeling of feet" ? |
