Beautiful image and place! You have done a fantastic job showing the architecture and total environment. I love to take images of scenes like this...it speaks to the older architecture as well as life style in an earlier age. And despite the gloomy skies...you managed the lighting perfectly. Well executed ..Congrats! |

The Old vs. New - really love the comparison that clearly shows the then vs. now. I think I might consider removing the cars ...in particular the red car and the white buses. It keeps drawing my eye away from the buildings which are really what the images are about. And with the newer LR and PS it would be possible. I was also surprised by the tables that jut out into the street (of course there is a barrier, but I'm surprised it is allowed (that's not about the image...just a comment about how unusual that is...and would be prohibited in US). Can't wait until it is completed!!! |

Magnificent image Ray! Your timing was impeccable! The backlighting in the keyhole sets this image apart and makes it and stand out. Congrats on a well done image! |

Beautiful Pano of the Grand Canyon....so difficult to shoot and incorporate the magnificence and vast expanse of the Canyon. It is an excellent pano of an American icon. I've been there a few times and every time it makes me feel how insignificant man is to nature. This image defines my feelings when standing there looking at the canyon. Congrats on a job well done. |

The image is kind of incredible, I have a lightening trigger and have never used it.....mainly because I do not like being out when lightening is active. It is extremely common here in Florida and the flat ground makes them extremely visible. You have come away with a crisp clean photo of a strike...and your positioning is excellent. I'm not sure I would have thought to compare the two...but I think it comes down to envisioning what you want to portray and then accomplishing the concept. While not the subject, I really like the way the clouds are illuminated by the strike. Props on concept and execution! |

Thanks, Butch….i do think the hammock is an essential part of the image because this image is about the peace and hope. environmental , and I very much like the removal of the Pine tree…..I think that does indeed put more focus on hammock (and I had already removed one on the right hand side and should have considered doing the other side) . The one thing I don't think I would want is to crop out any of the rainbow, since I think the rainbow and hammock are both part of the "mood" I love about the image. I do appreciate your suggestions! |

This is a significantly cropped image, but I did zoom in and noticed when I posted it...that one little fluff below the branch is indeed a bit blurry, and honestly I can't figure out why. The tail on the other hand is OK ...... I upped the F stop to make sure I got the bee and the bird because I wanted the bee sharp. My guess...and that is purely guessing....the significant cropping combined with the file size might have altered it???? The file was only 800kb which will not stand up to much magnification. But even on the original raw file that little fluff of feathers looked fuzzy to me.

Thanks John...I will lower the darken the branch a little. I know I selected the subject and lightened it somewhat, and never thought to brush out the branch! |

Love this eclectic image...the trees and colors are beautiful and the Longhorn a pleasant surprise. I've done jigsaw puzzles with natural landscapes (all those similar looking trunks :-)) like this and every time decide not to do one again....they are impossible!!
But as an image I find it soothing! Nice |

John, gorgeous area, and your processing sounds like it made quite a difference. A suggestion on an image like this, you might find adding the original might be beneficial since you explain what changes you made....seeing the before might help us understand the changes better.
I love the water and the differing levels and the waves ....hard to believe this was a coastline....but my world on east coast is huge stretches of beaches. I've been to the west coast but never for photography, they were mostly business trips with little personal time. |

Wonderful image, it's interesting because most photographers would focus on getting a full frame lion, rather than a group shot . But this image has so much more, including interactions, reflections, and environment. Well thought out and executed! Congrats, looks like your trip was a success!
One thing I might have considered is removing the reflection on far right of the green bush. I would leave in the river bank reflection. And probably only consider whether I would take the sprigs of green grasses....but not sure it would be worth it.... |

Peter, These birds are tough to get in flight, and getting the wings in that position is even harder. We see these regularly at one of the local wetlands and they are a very secretive bird. And sleep mostly during the day, so pretty much early morning or not at all. Very nice catch! I would tone down the background and let the bird take center stage , he is too pretty not to be the center of attention. |

Nice image Sarita, the colors are beautiful and you were able to keep the Butterfly and Sunflower crisp while blurring the back ground. Given your F stop I'm surprised you were able to get the background blurred as much as you did......or perhaps you isolated it in LR/PS wither way..nice image. The Monarch is spectacular! |
