Ray, I get where you are talking about blow out from the sun rays....but I don't see it in the final image. Getting rid of blow out is very difficult....one of my favorite images is a mother and baby dolphin jumping in waves on the water and try as I might I could not get rid of the blow out...do you have any knowledge about the process? |

Whops...somehow I missed commenting on this one...I very much like the stark nature of the image, and your title suits the image well. It sets a mood of " The Road Not Taken" By Robert Frost... in this case may not be different between them but only way to find out is to take one. Perhaps for a resident....the answer is Neither...but it opens my imagination to what wonders COULD be found. I like the image, in all its starkness. |

In fact I have added it as a high priority to visit once more. It was such an "easy" place where everyone is treated with respect and welcomed. But most importantly it is a stark and beautiful country....this image reinforces my opinion from my first visit.
Since living in SFL I rarely do landscapes unless I'm traveling. Birding won out since there are only so many beach sunrises and Everglade sunsets that entice me after the first 2 years....and yet I love landscapes as much as I love wildlife...so Yes, it is on my bucket list yet again, |

Can"t add much that Butch and Ian have not already said! This image should be printed and hung on a wall! I would be thrilled to have taken something like this! Just Priceless. |

All I can say is WOW! Quite an impressive Skyline. I'm sure this took some careful positioning to bringing all of the details of Sydney into the image. I think this is an outstanding image of your city! And I certainly understand why the "big boats" get preference. In the image it gives a great comparison of size of the "small water taxis vs. the Ocean Liner!
I have a strange question...has the Opera House ever been flooded or underwater? I presume you have a rainy seasoning but I'm not sure of the geography (which was never one of my favorite subjects in high school )- but seems to me it would be a big concern. |

I really like it...I was there in 2019 and we went to the black beach in Reynisfjara and the Diamond Beach near Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon. But the combination of the Dunes and very green grass and the menacing sky really intrigue me. It really is amazing the stark and uninhabited landscapes can produce amazing, intriquing images. Nicely processed, I would be proud of this image! |

Thanks Ian! It was a remarkable trip and this particular town was fascinating! The people were laid back and friendly, and the Alps were not quite as imposing in this area, vs. Chamonix and Zermatt. I really like the idea of making it more of a pano, and will make the change!

Very nice image, in case you don't know this, I am primarily a bird/wildlife photographer and the Platte River is infamous among this group. I've not had the chance to go....nor really wanted to for many of the reason you mentioned. I get to see Sand Hill Cranes year round at our local NWR...so this trip had no real appeal to me. Your description has confirmed my impression!! Now I'm sure I would not undertake this trip.
The sunrise really makes this image and your placement is perfect. What is most interesting is no one would recognize these as cranes. Unless you titled it with the name of the bird. Which you might consider. I an a big fan of sunrises with the intense orange sky and you have captured it nicely. But clearly it was not a favorite trip!

Love the interactions of the monkeys and you have done a very nice job on getting great bokeh on the background. It's amazing what a 2.8 lens can do! I also agree you might want to mute the yellow on the top of the heads. Looks a little unusual...and I pulled some up images up on web and it does not look natural. a minor distraction that could certainly be fixed and make this a fantastic image with the interactions! |

Judy, I love the sunburst! , your processing made for a stunning image! And of course Sunflowers are a very popular subject during their prime season.
I lived in Memphis in early 2000 and passed a huge field of Sunflowers every day on my way to work! Always told myself I would bring my camera and stop one day to get a few shots, but always something "brewing" at work so I chose to ride on through....I regret that choice now, but different time of life. And of course they do not have any sunflowers down here in SFL.....
Just in case others don't know...Florida Wildlife Federation awarded Judy 2nd place in a photo completion for landscapes of Blue Cyress Lake! Congrats Judy, well done! |

Beauty of a butterfly and very nice catch!! Wings spread nicely all the antennas visible. I really love it! When I lived in Maryland I walked on the weekends and would frequently take my camera with me to shoot the Swallowtails. What I like about your's is the milkweed flowers. They're in focus and show nicely! A veritable smorgasbord for the Butterfly! You caught this one perfectly! |

For me this is a WOW! The image is really minimalistic and comes off as Stunning! It is hard to believe one little tree, dead , could symbolize so much beauty. I agree with Leslie I too would remove the two park poles and there is one other higher on the left not sure it is a pole, but they don't add anything to the image.....that tree says all you were trying to share. |

I've photographed Terns and they are addictive and very frustrating! Those colors on the feet and beak stand out nicely and the contrast against so much white is very nice! And the catchlight in the eye is perfect. They are do dark against the black head that often times you can barely see them, Well done! Did you get any diving? That's my nemesis....it is really HARD!!! |
