What a beautiful Sunset! I love the way you have captured all the clouds leading into the actual sunset. The warm colors leading you right where you want the eye to go. I also like the "city lights" and trees visible on the the horizon, which pulls your eye into the skyline. I like the "atmosphere" you have created with the image! I've tried shots like this on the "beach" here at several locations, and never seem to be pleased with the outcome. But there is nothing "beyond" the beach's end and I just never liked the result. If you've noticed I rarely do sunsets, as a result. Thanks for sharing! |

Butch,
the detail in this image is pretty incredible. All those layers is pretty remarkable and I'm amazed at the excellent focus throughout the image. The fall colors on the deciduous trees and additional color pop. The riverbend draws your eye to the back of the image. Well done!! |

I've never seen a Muskrat! Thanks so much for sharing these cute mammals. Had you not put their name in the title I would not have known what they are! I like that you are showing their habitat and interaction. Really nice! |

Leslie, the 500PF is a very lightweight lens. I used it for several years, and simply because of the weight. I had no trouble managing it.
Whan I switched to Sony I really missed it, the 100-400 is much heavier. Last year I picked up a 300mm 2.8 Prime and I use it with a 1.4 teleconverter. Again a light weight lens. It weighs 2.5 lb and I can manage it nicely. |

What a marvelous action shot of those Bald Eagles! Your shot is spot on! The eagles are both in focus and the fish is in the forefront of the action. Amazing how aggressive these birds are in stealing each other's catch. Excellent capture!
I lived in Maryland for 9 years, and never visited Conowingo Dam. Yet many of my Photographer friends recommended I try it. I never learned birds in flight until I moved to Florida, and thought I would be way over my head...and I most certainly would have! Now I regret not trying, but oh well..some day maybe! |

A beautiful lion and intense gaze! Your description of him as an apex predator is spot on! I too am curious, were you in a hide? Getting him at ground level is difficult unless you have the convenience of a hide.
I also noticed the top edge of his mane....I might go back and try to blend it in a little bit more. You might even try using the original background, that might eliminate the problem. |

What beautiful first light colors! The dead trees give character to the image and the crescent moon really adds quite a bit, even if it such a small portion of the image. The "s" of the water coming to shore add addiotnal texture that I find pleasing. Lving near a beach, it is rare to get such smooth "waves" coming in and I love what it adds to the image. I also agree with removing the one branch.
Overall a very nice image, Sarita! |

Thanks Sarita, In addition to all the distractions, I really did struggle with the "fog" we were faced with and as a result it leached out his underside of the wing a fair amount....it should be darker, but despite multiple attempts I could not get the underportion of the wing to be the correct color. Has anyone else dealt with dense fog shooting? if so any tricks that anyone an think of .I would appreciate any suggestions! |
