Thanks Gary....I considered it when I was editing and now that I reassess with your comments, I agree. Good idea and will indeed go back and eliminate them. |

Gary, beautiful spot and lovely image you have managed to produce. I do agree with Ian, about the "level aspect", most likely because of shooting from above. I always find when shooting city scenes, getting the distortion out is one of the hardest things to do. I have yet to master it and most often just don't shoot scenes like this, because I end up frustrated. And I know I've missed many opportunities because of my worrying about distortion. I think all that being said it is really a lovely image and one that is quite good! I would be proud to say I took it....as Im sure you are! |

Ian, what a gorgeous image. I love those rocks leading into the Bridge but then I look at all the detail of the city in the background and the perfectly still water (likely do to the ND filter and long exposure it allowed). I agree with Butch.....I would be temped to hang on my wall!!! |

Welcome Ahmed! This image has great depth, with all the different mountains, coming in at angles. Is this a significant Mountain Range in India? The river is quite small compared to the beautiful mountains but it leads your eye into the scene quite nicely. Congrats!!!
And shooting from a bus adds a great deal of complexity to the shot. I give you credit for trying!!! And then actually coming up with something that is quite magnificent. |

The image combines my favorite things, coastline and wildlife! And ignoring the banding, the image has so much to offer, the coastline, seals, and that beautiful stretch of beach. Significant amount of work to put all those together, but panos are difficult to display on this website, especially ones this large. |

I love Arches, the beauty is overwhelming , and only enhanced by your background of the Milky Way. I give you a great deal of credit for the time needed to execute this image..... far more than the actual image took to complete. The result is engaging and makes you want to visit again and again.
It's been a while since I was there with a group of photographers (2014, I think). We actually started in Monument Valley then worked our way into Utah. One of my favorite NP trips, and reminds me of how much I love traveling in the South West! There is so much beauty between Arizona, Utah, and Colorado.....and fun places to hike and explore! Your image projects the beauty of the area and as well as the skill to obtain difficult images like this. |

And I have no idea whether it is a male or female. Not broken the code on Ibis for gender, unless they are sitting on the nest.... I'll likely call them a female. That is true for many of the birds I shoot. For instance the most common Great Blue Heron...officially they tell you the male is larger....unofficially not a hope in the world of making that differentiation. Some are very easy like the Osprey....the female has a brown "necklace" and the male none. The smaller birds and ducks are usually easy....the male is almost always more colorful. So it is potluck on many of the others. |

John, I think you might be right. Making it a square would be better than the standard 4/5. I've played some with the crop...but not with full attention. The holidays just eat my time up and leave little for "play". Im ready for a break! |

Judy, this is the only time I've seen the green as well. I'm wondering if it was specific to this one. when I took the image I thought it was a little unusual, and when I increased the exposure on the shadows it popped ....and I really think there was light reflection from the water on the underside of the bird to cause it to pop. And if you look there is a small circle of sunlight right under it.....I think it was just a unique moment for sure! |

Fantastic! I have no idea what happened on the other one......but this looks more like the image you sent me. I'm going to place that one in your top one and get rid of the the original one....if I can. I have no idea if it happened on the website or my PC....but I must admit it looked very saturated when I downloaded, then when I posted it even more so.... |

I do like your composition and the posture of the snake with the tongue out. I see snakes often in some of my regular haunts, but usually try to avoid them. Whenever I post a snake most people shy away from the image....which is why most people don't share snake images......but they are part of our world and I must admit it is a nice image given the positioning and how well it stands out from the background! |

John, I think this is a beautiful picture with a message of the interconnectedness of nature. I think you always have a strong message with your images, and are probably more tuned into the uniqueness of nature than most people. The fall colors are magnificent and I learned something about gulls today that I had not known! Thanks for sharing your image and expertise! |

Just a spectacular shot of the Eagle catching their breakfast !
I lived in Maryland for nine years before moving here and never went up to Conowingo, but then I really did not shoot too many birds.....and more importantly did not know enough to effectively shoot in flight birds. First thing I did after moving to SFL was get some tutoring on that skill set!
I suspect when you get a chance to process it on your desktop and with more time to work on it , you'll find it is really a great shot. I really don't like to pressure myself into processing on the road. I usually go home and think why did I do that....it is so much easier when not pressured! |

I've never noticed it before....But might I suggest you desaturate some and repost it yourself in a comment and we can look at it. I did not do anything with the image except post it, but when I received it my thought was it was oversaturated. If nothing else next month you can send me the image and I'll post it and you can look to see what it looks like on the site. This site is very picky about size, mainly because many folks would post very large images and cause the sever to become overloaded. so give it a go and see what it looks like when you post directly in a a reply. Then I can check with Tom, our webmaster to see if he has any ideas. |

I really love to watch the deer in the wild. We have many in Loxahatchee NWR and I particularly like to see the fawns! But when you have two interacting in their natural environment you have a great shot. The deer are sharp and clear, and the background nicely shows them off. The one suggestion I thought I would make is to crop it so the deer are not smack dab in the middle of the images. But I'm not sure how you would do it without it being strange looking......anyone else have thoughts about that? |
