I'm going to take the upside of this image.... I actually like the image....but I don't think it should be quite as long and I would remove what little background you have . Not sure it adds anything to the image. When I think of Ian's flooding image and my concern about conservation...this image just gives me hope that maybe there might be a way dig ourselves out of the mess we have made of our planet.
The flowers give me hope and the beauty is just about what we have left ..... I know philosophical but a bright light of yellow and white flowers can be uplifting all by themselves. It would make a lovely mural. |

I believe I had to import this and take it down to a much smaller image...not positive since I had several that required me decreasing size.....but that may be why it is pixelated (and why I hate to have to do it....but crunch time comes and unless I have time to send it back I will reduce size). |

WOW! And we are roasting to death in Florida with Heat advisories daily. I only do any significant time out side before 10AM. Even the birds are HOT! Of course you are all still in winter, correct? I know you get very little snow .....but isn't this technically your dry season?
Sometimes photographing events like that are all you can do....but as a bit of a conservation freak....I worry we have used up all of Mother Nature's good will, and have passed the last exit long ago. Not sure Earth will ever recover from our excess. |

Dave, I have to confess at the outset.....I have never seen a Bison in my life and always thought they were wild animals. So for starters the thought of two men sitting taking a break from roofing with a Bison grazing ....and with little notice of the fact gave me quite a chuckle!
I'm sure you think I'm a little naive but I enjoyed the fun nature of the image! And I learned something new! |

Butch, very nice image.....and I think many photographers have some version of this "barn", but for those of us that have never been there.....I think your version is a very different. The angle and focused less on the barn and more on the background. At first I thought it was a different location. But I'm pretty sure after looking up Moulton Barn....most seem to have the barn taking up a lot more space in the image and from a very different angle. So maybe not so much a cliche was you thought.
I also like Ian's BNW version. There are some pictures that suit BNW and while you prefer color...there is something to be said for both versions. |

I just spent some quality time on the image.....it is very clear I am a NOVICE! It was an experiment that needs some refining for certain. But is was fun to take an image I really loved and to relive the moment (and the frustration) of trying to figure out how to make this in to a keeper.....between my novice photographer status and skill ...it was OK but I really think in the long run....AI can help on minor things.....not really interested in making it my go to way of processing. The process in PS takes choice out of it .....Im not wild about that. I want input. |

This is our month for unusual wildlife! Cute little fellows...I've been on Mt. Evans and went to the top....just couldn't stand up once we got there....apparently I did not know I had Altitude sickness. Have since learned to use "drugs" to curtail the effects.
It was interesting to read about marmots this month as well! They are really just ground squirrels and very territorial! You have captured the playfulness of youth and overall just a great image. Not only is it sharp and clear throughout, the background is nicely muted and the personality of the subjects show through! Nicely done! |

WOW!! What a wonderful experience that must have been!! They are unique birds in habits as well as appearance. I am going to have to look up some details on this one. I'm surprised at f/8 you were able to get them all reasonable sharp and clear. I'm also wondering if the rocks they stay on are able to provide some camouflage.... This should be a great image to work with when you have access to desktop. Trying to shoot from a moving boat is a challenge! I give you props for managing a clear image! |

I love "fawns" and had to look up what a mule deer was...... thanks for sharing and encouraging me learn something new! I frequently see and photograph deer at one of our local NWR they are such beautiful animals.
This image captures a really nice moment and gives you the bonus of a nice reflection. Lovely! The images really draws your attention to those ears and how characteristic they are for the species. Nicely done!!
My only thought...and that is all it is...I might have cropped in a little closer. There is a fair amount of "blank space" with little but grass. Bu that is picky...and really in the eye of the viewer...not necessarily something others would notice! |

We were in Sarapiqui last November. We stayed at the Selva Verde Lodge. and hiked by the river one early evening. It was a nice place...but we did not get to see this Toucan, though our guides were keeping eye out.
Nice clean image of the Toucan and love the toss! Nothing better than to get wildlife being wildlife! I almost always try to get behaviors if possible, though that is not always easy and you're correct requires a great deal of patience and luck!
I might consider darkening the background a tad,I know you want to show off the colors of the toucan ......and brighter background certainly does that for the body...but around the neck it washes out the color to some extent. Regardless, beautiful image!
I also know you tend to shoot and process on the brighter side so it may just be your preference. I tend to shoot on the dark side always....remanant of my days shooting Nikon. I almost always have to lighten things up in processing and playing around with the light sliders always!! |

Sarita, very nicely done image. The background is muted and complements/makes the Skipper show off ! The flower's coloring enhances that small bit of orange on the neck and chest of the butterfly! eyes are sharp and placement is superb. The orange of the flower immediately draws you to the butterfly! They don't get much more precise and perfect than this image! Congratulations. |
