OK, so Ian has given away my secret love for smooth water.......but Gary this is a beautiful image...it is crisp, clear, and I love the golden color of the "foliage", it draws your eye into the waterfall and keeps it there . And the slightly smoothed water speaks to the type of waterfall it is, not a great volume of water running through it, so I would not expect it to be super smooth. Nicely framed and all the signs of hand of man are eliminated. Great job!

Peter.....I wish I had your creativity and ability to execute on your plan. The image is intriguing and I think you have come up with a unique and enjoyable image. I also noticed the juxtaposition of the new vs. the old. I think I really appreciate that. Also I noticed even an old building has the UP and Down in English and Chinese (I think) given it is Hong Kong. Frankly this image could have been taken in many older cities with the old vs. new.
Nice image Peter, because it made me think and the image pulled me in to explore all the details. |

So I'm confused, I thought the branch on the right was a hanging "man" and the one on the left the farmer. I guess I was thinking too much about Transylvania ! The mist and the B&W make it pretty spooky, so I guess I got carried away ......
I will certainly give you kudos for imagination, and mine kept on going. After all it is Dracula's castle you are on the road too....and he does have peculiar habits.
So in the spirit of fun.... thanks for giving me a laugh! And letting my imagination run free! |

Interesting image Dhananjay, and the title did confuse me a little, since it is the lone fisherman. So you might want instead to feature the solitude of a fisherman's life. I routinely struggle with going out to photograph birds and find I don't have enough depth of field to pull off a landscape ( I use a Nikon D850 for landscapes and a Sony for wildlife/birds), good example being last month's image :-(. I usually carry it in the car with me and rarely take it out! I resort to my phone. But then I struggle to process it because I forgot to switch to RAW. |

Dave, gorgeous image, the sky sucks you into the vista and the mountains in the far back. Your setting were on point , and the pano is a perfect choice for processing. I've found yet another spot that I would love to visit!
It looks to me like you intentionally chose to use the one tree to hide the glare of the sun, and it worked perfectly. I'm not particularly bothered by the front tree not having ground in front of it, I think mainly because there is so much open ground beyond it. I love the image! |

Beautiful image! My daughter and family just moved out to Washington State and I'd love to go out and visit sometime this year. I was wondering whether there was anything else to shoot other than Mt. Ranier (a view from her back porch) and Eagles for sure. But my gut says this is not a horrible commute and may be worth considering.
The image has so many beautiful componets such as the sky, rock, birds, and then there is that fabulous light hitting the rock. Beautiful place and fantastic image!

Your image did not download for some reason....I'll be downloading others images all this week and I'll check again.
I totally get what you were going for and one thing I had considered was to increase the size in PS and do content aware fill, instead of just cropping the image. I went ahead and tried it ...not sure I like it as well... but I need to think about it a little.
If you ever have the chance I would encourage you to go to Iceland. The land of Fire and Ice. It is a magnificent location for landscape photography .......and the people are great! |

Sorry Peter, that was indeed my fault. I was trying to get the image the right size and had a paste from my other group , instead of going back to your original correctly. Apologies! Thank for providing the correct info. |

He is pretty cute! He reminds me of the River Otters around here that love to play in the water where duckweed is most abundant. When the pull out of the water they are routinely covered with duckweed, much like your Muskrat, just a lot bigger.
Your muskrat is well placed in the frame and while you could have cleaned the background up a tad, it is also his natural environment. He is sharp and those "claws/feet" are pretty remarkable. |

You have captured the personality of Sand Hill Cranes. And their normal environment. They are pretty much permanent residents in this area. And one pair breeds every Spring in our NWR. The "colts" are just comical and adorable. But agree with Judy about their habitat so they end up getting stuck with habitating unusual spots, like fields intended for sports.
And this is a pretty nice image for someone that has not shot birds before. I took up bird photography when we moved to Florida and it is a slow learning curve for sure. Prior to that I did mostly landscape images..... which is still nature. A suggestion for your next try.....get a bird perched (ie no motion) and play with your setting in camera. Almost always with a bird I shoot as high of a shutter speed as possible. and vary the ISO as needed based on light. I do use the new DeNoise AI introduced into Adobe products and it works well with few artifacts. Your group was clearly in motion and that is the hardest one to accomplish.
Bravo for trying and if you like it just keep trying....there are several other things that are as much nature as birds and wildlife!

Grebes are one of my favorite tiny birds at the wetland. They always look like they are chicks base on their size, then you see them pull a small frog from the water and down the hatch. And you know it is really an adult. During mating season (right now), they are noisy and boisterous trying to find a mate.
Nice image, love the water in circles, the water perfectly framing him in circles, and the nice reflection. Well Done ! |

Nicely done, are Tanagers common around you? I saw so many in Costa Rica, with such a variety of colors. Beautiful birds for sure. But I've never seen any in South Florida. Your image is lovely and the background certainly makes him pop. I'm pretty sure he was posing for you to show off his colors! Great image. |

Beautiful bird, colorful and certainly full of attitude! Do his feathers fade to dark when not lit by the sun? Like several birds around here like Boat Tailed Grackles and Glossy Ibis that look mostly brown and black unless you get the sun hitting them directly. This birds beautiful feathers are surely a standout! Nicely done in capturing his personality as well! Nicely done. |

Composition on this one is very nice, and I agree with Judy, the are almost mirror images of each which makes for a pleasing image. The one thing I would suggest is, the mouth on the back lizard appears to have some artifact, probably something done during processing. I would try to correct that. But in fairness unless you pixel peep it is probably not noticed. So up to you. |

John, they swallow it whole and later regurgitate the "seed" and probably the hard skin. But the avocado species they like are very small unlike the Florida and even smaller Hass Avocados. They look more like a walnut (or slightly bigger). One of the things I like about wildlife photography is I get to learn about the habits, challenges, and quirky things about what I shoot. It has also made me very aware of the need for conservation. |
