Dhananjay, I think that was what I was picking up when I thought the horizon was not straight. But I really wonder whether it is distortion or the landscape of the area. |

I love all the lines and swirls in the image, overall making it a very pleasing to the eye and soothing image. The blue sky and the forbidding clouds provide some added interest, but honestly my eye stays on the winding paths produced by the frozen lake. I really like this image! Thanks for sharing.
We forget there is cold weather living in the "sunshine state". Nothing freezes over here and it is nice to look at but still glad I do not have to deal with that weather driving. |

Beautiful image of Cypress Trees and the surroundings. Cypress are pretty much everywhere in Florida and very prevalent in the Wetlands and Nature Centers around here but rarely get this big....they crowd each other out so none get this large. These are extremely large Cypress and the colors are stunning. The framing on this image is great! I imagine those trees are pretty old looking at their trunk. Surprised there are no knees visible. A really nice image that highlights the beauty of the Cypress Trees. |

Beautiful sunset Ian, and the reflection of the sunset on the water is very nice. My suggestion... the image appears to not have a level horizon...... but I think it is from the base of the image, not the actual horizon. At first I wanted you to considered using this as a panorama, but as I played with it I realized that would not help. I do think you should crop the bottom to eliminate that bank. And lighten the green grass a bit. I'm attaching my sample, but I really just played with the crop and lightened it a bit, especially the bottom. I think the distance view should stay darker, because the bridge takes away the feeling of "away from civilization". But the image may not be to your liking...and if so...just tell me to get a grip. ;-) |

Love the leading line of the rays as well as the road. They intersect right at the curve of that road ....so it brings the eye directly to the truck. And the mist adds a little mystery to the image. Nicely done from the composition perspective. My only thought might be to add a little more light to the tree on the left to bring out some green in the tree. At this point it is almost just a sepia image....which may be your intent .......just my thoughts for trying something to bring out the beauty of the tree. |

Peter, I struggle with the same thing...and I groan when my sun is blown out and the rest of the image is exactly what I was aiming for....in November (group 73) I posted my one and only shot I have ever taken that did not have a blown out sun. It was a sunrise shot in Captiva. And I have no idea how I got so lucky! Except I played around with multiple settings to get this image. I've attached the the image and the specs were:
1/1250 sec
f/5.6
ISO 100
at 500 mm with my Nikon D850 and 500 pf lens. |

I'm jealous!! The best we can do around here is the Bobcat.......and that is a hit or miss if you happen to be at one of their haunts very early or late in the day. Ive only caught one very bad pic of a little one well hidden in the undergrowth.
In my opinion the wild foxes are very beautiful animals and would love to have the opportunity to get shots of them!. And you are correct their prey are not pleased they are around.
Really nice image and his posture tells me he is looking for breakfast. |

I'm with Judy, it fits the environment. I will also add that some of the grain may relate to the size restrictions. I kind of like the tone you accomplished....but I too would step back more toward the pinks than the purple. Your composition is stunning!!
For those that are not aware John will get an image on the landing page for next round I believe, he was asked to submit one. Make sure to keep your eyes pealed on the landing page!
And one other note....some of us that just updated our MAC's are having trouble getting onto the website, at least Peter and me included! I wish I could share the magic potion...but I've still not found one! I keep trying different things. |

I must admit when I first looked at this image I thought of your title and finally put it together. Just a little slow out of the gate. Of all the egrets/herons my favorite is the Green Heron. They are reclusive and usually hide very well. I have yet to take a successful Greenie in flight..... I've tried but always about 5 secs. too late! I find them difficult to "read".
I do believe you made your point they are indeed somewhat difficult to find. I also think by cropping it you would loose your point. .......I applaud you for something different that does indeed say a great deal about the bird. |

Beautiful image of the warbler! All the details are great and the catch light does add a nice touch! Beautiful shot. I'll have to try that trick! |

Exceptional silhouette! It had to be either a Cormorant or Annihinga which is nice to be able to identify which bird it most likely is. I really like the crop and the position of that you took the image, gives it a very pleasing balance. Nicely done! |

That is one very chubby squirrel, or I should say big squirrel. I am amazed at their size! I looked them up and they are for sure part of the squirrel family. What is amazing is that they can eat enough seeds/nuts to maintain that size. They must eat all day! They may also be one of the species that also eats insects and small vertebrates. Great shot and nice to have the whole animal in focus! Looking forward to other finds while in India. Very nice job!!! |
