Beautiful image and love the history and story behind the village. What a memorable experience for you and you have executed the image flawlessly. It makes one think that there indeed might be an idyllic "Shangri La". Thank you for sharing the image and the background ! |

I'm very much a lover of misty scenes, and this one does not disappoint. The trees make this image, and when you get above them you can see that a blue sky will eventually emerge. I wonder if you could have made a bigger panorama to include more of the trees on each end....but it may be that you just end up with other trees that get truncated and gain nothing but a longer image. Just food for thought. I like the image a lot and give you extra credit for attempting it on your way to work, |

Dhanajay...an interesting image and the lone dead tree tells perhaps the story of the Tornado? Or was it just a quirk of mother nature? I agree with Ian, if you were to crop some of the green away, your story would be just as obvious, and your lone dead tree more striking. I'm curious, was the dead tree caused by the tornado, and did (prior to the tornado)) this view include a bridge? Guess I'm trying to piece it together from the info you provided. |

Living in Florida this image is almost like a bad dream! I've been in horrible snow storms in the NE and Midwest (Ohio - Lake Effect Snows), but they are all a distant nightmare! I love the sky which makes the image more dramatic and the tree with its overburdened branches tells a great story. Agree with Ian....about the right hand edge. That could be easily corrected in PS with the remove tool. Hope your snow is gone before another one pops up this winter :-). |

What a spectacular image!! And a meaningful explanation about Aspens. When I visited Denver, Colorado a few years ago we photographed many Aspens and our leader talked a alot about them. But your simple description brought back fond memories of that trip as well as reminded me about the clones. The composition is lovely and the colors magnificent ! Thanks for sharing. |

What a wonderful story of successful collaboration. The spring green foliage provides a beautiful backdrop for those granite rocks and the rocks pull your eyes into the image and background. Composition was clearly thoughtful and sure hope that the collaboration leads to some success! Nicely done, John. |

What a nuisance for Peaches. Appreciate the story because there was indeed quite a furor over everyone seeing them. I had not heard her story and hope that she has found a spot where she can manage without annoying people bothering her.
So many folks think Flamingos are everywhere in South Florida and a friend was surprised when I told her there are none that I have seen since I've been living here for 6 years. For some reason they associate them with the state. Despite the fact they are not usually sighted around here. |

Beautiful catch and the bird is spectacular. The image of the bird is spot on for crisp and clear even at that ISO. I know the Denoise in LR has made quite a difference in my willingness to shoot at higher ISO's. and it did a great job on this one (you lost no detail in the feathers) ! Warblers can be tricky, they don't like to sit still. Very nice image!! |

Beautiful shot Sarita. I think the only hummer Ive seen in the south is a Ruby throated and trying to get them photographed is a lesson in patience. Very nice image!!! And the cropping gives you nice leading lines right into the bird's beak and onto the eye. Great composition and the eye/body is nice and crisp and clean. No way you can get the wings frozen at 1/1600 but you don't really ned that as lond=g as the eye/body is sharp. Very nice job!!
BTW - the Great Blues are back and beginning to build nests already! Saw them this morning fetching sticks and bring them back to the nest. |

Don you are correct, I have been trying to grab an image of this dude for 2 years and could never find him in amongst the ground cover.....for obvious reasons. This time I was with other folks that had located him and were kind enough to lead me to him and literally point him out!! It is a good habit to make friends of your fellow photographers !

John, It is interesting that you qualify me as a "birder", which is not really what I profess to be.....I started out with mostly land/seascapes and graduated to wildlife with a trip to Africa. I really much prefer photographing wildlife, but having moved to Florida, not much in the way of wildlife except birds, and landscapes IMHO require mountains, hills, foliage, red rocks, etc. You can only take so many beach shots. On my trip to Costa Rica we actually had a "true birder" join us and it was very interesting dynamics. She was mostly concerned with identifying and taking a snap with a tiny camera if it was close enough, where as the photographers were all sporting huge lens (several had 800 mm) and expensive cameras. I'm somewhere in the middle, I use the 100-400 and most often get a reasonable image even at high ISO's. Perhaps not contest worthy...but ones that I am able to share. . |

Leslie, I already used a mask and increased shadows along with slight increase in exposure. It got too grainy if I used more .....but I really was happy to get at least a passable image. |

Purely accidental on the vegetation, I got very lucky! But when I cropped I did take advantage of what was there! Thanks! |

This was taken at Green Cay in Boyton Beach. I suspect that is the one you are referring to, I've been trying to get him for 2 years and was thrilled to have at least a few decent ones! |
