Dave....Ive not know anyone that has needed a second go....even the thought of having two knees to be done....let alone a repeat performance. I'm so sorry but VERY glad you are on the mend and if you have the chance Iceland is outstanding! I went reluctantly because I am not a big fan of very cold places, but I got converted! their landscapes are magnificent! |

You are correct, Topaz is still better...but what I have found is with really high ISO like I did a couple of woodpeckers in deeply wooded area at ISO5000 and the LR Denoise left fewer artifacts. But unusual to use that high of an ISO unless you do night skies in landscape. In bird photography happens often enough for me to have tried. |

That's a great idea, since I do a lot of bird reflection images (my photographer alter ego - after all I live in Florida), I'll try that approach. I have loved the recent upgrades in LR they make it so much easier to do things rather then back and forth between the apps. If you not tried their Denoise AI....it is great. In the bird world there are so many instances of dark images and high ISO's that it is a real treat! |

Never see a Superbloom, but have seen other images of them. Usually from a longer perspective. But while you may not consider it a great superbloom, since we have few wild flowers in Florida, this looks pretty fine to me. I'm sure others who have seen one understand your disappointment.
Agree with you some post processing would enhance this image. |

What a perfect catch! The reflections are superb and start you into the image. Nice balance of foreground, mid ground, and background. Was the boat going at the time of capture? And you did not give your F stop, trying to reconcile how well focused this is from front to back and wondering what F stop you used to achieve. I assume the 1600 sec exposure was due to the boat moving.
But the simplistic beauty is special and gives one a feeling of peace. Nicely done! |

Must admit this is a beautiful spot! I would have loved to see the original to understand the monochrome decision. I rarely convert any images into monochrome, but most of my images lately are local (since COVID - not got to travel) and landscapes are pretty monotonous in South Florida.
But the monotone certainly enhances the feel of mystery and the Point of the Arches stand out nicely. The lines leading into the arches (which I assume are stone or Coral reefs) provide a vehicle to draw your eyes into the main subject. Beautiful image!

Mysterious must be the theme this month....wonder how that happens? The misty morning is quite lovely and subtle. The pop of red in the front fauna and the blandness of the winter trees accentuate the vast difference between plants and trees. Do you have trees that become totally barren in the winter, or do they just turn a little drab and leaves stay on to some extent? and yet the "grass" (perhaps a big assumption on my part) is very brown like in the northern US.
The bright foreground catches my eye first and the fine mist draws me into the scene. I wonder if you could have tweaked the sky to add a hint more of blue to give a little additional pop to the sky? Just a thought, the image is good on its own, just thinking of ways to add more "color to brighten the image. |

I've been to SF many times and NEVER got to see the fog! What a bummer. I am jealous a little and really like the image. Not sure if I would have left the "visitor" in the shot or not. The pop of the red hat is nice except my eye keeps getting pulled back to him....and I think I would rather have my eye stick on the mysterious bridge. It appears to be a "mirage" almost. And that hint of blue sky fits into that mystery. Really like the image and would have to play a little to see if I liked it without the person. But, regardless of that small detail, I really like the image. |

I bet it is a shadow of the petal to the upper right of the butterfly. (just realized Judy agrees). The teleconverter from my experience (and a friends) is just like Don's, I do not think it provides a sharp enough image with the A7rIV, got better results just cropping since the files are generally 63 mb each. A friend thinks it is a little better with the A1, but I've not tried it with the A1. My only experience was with the 1.4x. |

Not going to add much everyone else has said, I too like it cropped better for a couple of reasons that everyone else has mentioned. "Don't want to beat a hot bear to death! " And I really liked John's crop! |

Could I have mixed up your original and edited version? I really love the original and wonder why the change in color. The one I thought was original had title "In camera ex. 300" I assumed that meant Original. I really like the "Original". Please let me know. For what it worth most label the original as Original or the edited version labeled as Edited. Makes it "Sherry Proof". My apologies if I reversed them. |

Just, I just love this image, the beauty of the bird and flower is magnified by the simplicity of the image. Just jealous! I would not change a thing but like others print it and show it off!! |

Dragon Flys are difficult subject particularly because they are erratic and unpredictable.
I too love the water texture and the dragonfly is very sharp and clear. I think what you are seeing in the foreground of the same is moss that is growing over the "dead limb" it has landed upon. I do think I might try to take it into photoshop and use the remove tool to remove the distraction. I've tried things complex like that in LR and came away disheartened. PS is more reliable and even then it may disrupt things too much and you would scrap that idea.
I am not at all troubled by the difference in colors between the fly and the reflection. Happens all the time and often times just a difference in sharpness. The actual dragonfly is sharp, the refection is not. In my mind not a big deal. |

Sarita, I tried your idea about Chromatic Aberration and it did nothing to the change the image. I suspect it was all the dew on the ground and that low sun. Of course Im zooming in on a much larger image so I wonder if that makes a difference? I ned to do some digging on why that happens.....thanks for the suggestion! |

I too prefer action shots but the one I submitted was because of that early morning light and all the dew on the ground. I was on the ground, at eye level taking the shot. My pants were soaked when I got up. I actually tried this in square format and debated about which one to post. And I'll go back and look at that one more critically. You may be correct. |
