Or I'll come to Australia and make you show me the beautiful landscape areas you shoot ! :-)
That piece has a history actually and I do have the same image without it! When I was working through the travel images I had lost in the hard drive failure, I got lucky with this image and had the image saved in one of my emergency back up places. so while a Jpeg still useable. I fixed it and then posted the wrong one. Ugh! Just in too much of a rush!!! |

I know exactly what you mean, though even with DST our sunrise is 630am so certainly better than 430am. As we get closer to fall it continues to get easier. I was in Nantucket in spring and we had 430am sunsets which I dragged out of bed to get too, as it turns out got lovely images but the rest of the day was wiped! |

Great reflection shot and Barb is correct so many beautiful layers. I was surprised that you said a flooded dock, but given the current weather across the US I'm sure there are numerous scenes as this one, but certainly not as peaceful. Was this sunrise or sunset?
You have captured the stillness and beauty of the water. Living on the East Coast our sunrise is never as peaceful as this one, mainly because you always have the waves and never a chance to see this kind of reflection! Nicely done. |

Very nice composition and merging of the entire spectrum of the image. any tips on how you managed to post process this image? In particular were the flowers in the foreground actually that light? The light on the flowers compared to the sky which clearly was sunset colors surprised me.
Please don't take that as a criticism, just merely wanted to know if you had some processing tricks to make it lighter....such as the linear gradient and use it to increase exposure?
The entire image comes across truly beautiful....and I can't image a better day than hiking the trail and coming across that shot! |

Awesome shot! and I love the muted background and crisp fireworks ! I've tried to shoot fireworks and always walk away frustrated with the images! Can you image the older generation (which I will admit includes me ....) that had to deal with film .....trying to shoot an image like that?
I never attempted until I had a digital camera, and even at that, struggled to find an image worthy of keeping. Your post processing really made a difference giving the muted look to the foreground and background.

As mentioned to you in personal email, Long Beach Island was a frequently visited place when our girls were young and we lived in NJ. It was one of many places we would visit on the Jersey Shore, and among my favorite.
Totally agree, the cropped version brings your eyes to the red of the lighthouse and the clouds frame it nicely in your cropped version. They provide a beautiful background for the lighthouse and add to the ambiance of the shot. '
My one simple suggestion would be to use the healing brush to remove the two clumps of dead grass, mainly because you loose the rest of the plant when you cropped and they are hanging in the air. Very small detail, but I think would make the cropped version just a little better.
Regardless of that minor suggestion, I love the image. Lighthouses are one of my favorite landscapes, and this one is lovely. Very nicely done. And yes the Jersey Shore in "winter" is very windy! |

Ive been up to Mount Evans and literally could not "stand up" when I got there. Apparently I get "Altitude Sickness" in a major way. Thought me a valuable lesson. Be prepared for the environment! We saw very few Mountain Sheep while there because of heavy cloud cover at that altitude.
This on the other hand, is a great shot of the animals in their environment. They look like they are very interested in your camera "or maybe you"? Your moment of capture is exceptional! I might consider calling this "Curious Mountain Sheep". Agree with Judy that perhaps some darkening of the background might make them standout more. |

A agree with Judy, this image is stark and unforgiving. It represents your fear for all mankind.
And then this summer the climate change is sad, so many things we have done wrong and Mother Earth is trying to send us a message, which we clearly have ignored for too long. I have a good friend that I've traveled with multiple time and we have discussed climate change. He thinks we have passed the "last exit" and there is no going back. I fear he is right!
Beautifully executed. Is is it a message I want to hear, certainly not, but it is reality? It would be interesting if you have an earlier image that you might use to compare where we've been and what is "now" would be very interesting! Thanks for sharing. |

Just GREAT shots of the Owls, love these images. Great JOB!
One of my favorite birds to photograph. They are so expressive and comical. On the East Coast they nest in unusual places as well.....no sure why that is...but the Brian Piccolo Sports Complex in Ft. Lauderdale has many nests and another spot Vista View in Davie also has many burrows. The thing that surprises me is why the attraction to places where sports is the main attraction. |

John you are correct, but this was done with a grab my camera and whatever the settings were was what I shot. My husband was looking out the window and let me know they were "visiting" and I didn't want them to fly before I could get in a shot or two. They like to forage in early morning so they are unpredictable. In fact they stayed perhaps 5 minutes at the most and were gone! Using a mirrorless I rarely have trouble with getting ISO/shutter speed right because of the WYSIWYG (ie mirrorless) but the the aperture is not as readily apparent. It is also a relatively new camera, Sony A1, and not yet comfortable with the handling of the camera. Have only used it two months. |

I am not an expert user of PS....not sure about levels .....but I did use masking in LR and increased contrast and lightened just the hawks up a bit to give more pop. I'll have to check out levels in PS. But honestly they have improved LR so much that I think I can probably do as much there....What do you think? |
