HAHA! Ive heard that before from Matt Kloskowski! It is a common refrain of his.....which is also why I thought about it ...... It is just so far down into the valley I wasn't sure! |

I was indeed way up in the mountains when I took this. Aiguille du Midi is reached by a gondola and you are very close to the peaks. I had to take altitude sickness medication in order to tolerate it. But it worked beautifully and allowed me not to react to low O2 levels.
Since I started from scratch again with the raw image, I considered cropping some of the sky out on top, but decided against it, but I still am wondering if indeed it should be trimmed a little on the top. I also have some images looking down into the town of Chamonix but because of the height it is not nearly as impressive as just the vista of the mountains in early morning light! |

My Father-in-Law was in WWII and I sincerely wish he were still with us to enjoy this image. While he was not on Omaha Beach, he fought in the First Army, and received a Bronze Star for Valor in Battle of the Bulge. The beautiful thing is he lived to be 94 yo and spent his last 4 years living with my husband and I. This image brought back so many fond memories of him....thank you for sharing this beautiful image that honors all those that served to keep us free! |

A unique opportunity and a stunning composition. By including your fellow hikers in the red jackets you pull the eye directly into that atmosphere of cold, steam, and beautiful blue sky! The tree on the left also adds to the composition because the others are mere hints because of the steam. Must have been a cold but wonderful trek! Picture perfect. |

I'm pretty sure I could not have taken that image without getting very nervous! I love waterfalls and playing with making it smooth and silky (as you well know ) so you had me at GO! But I always do them from below :-)! What a remarkable place and from the second image, it appears it is quite a popular place.
I'm not sure I would have ever considered taking the image from the top looking down, but it works nicely and really does give a great deal of depth and a unique perspective.
Nicely done! |

Agree, with Ian and Gary, the car is not bothersome. This image is all about mood and you have presented that well. Ive shot in fog at one of our NWR and love the additional mood that it gives to "nature". I personally would not use one with the car cropped out, but if it bothers you , you would have the option of using one of the replacement tools in PS. Sometimes they work, sometimes they just don't do it for me, but that is your decision as to what you like best! |

I played with it a little in LR and ended up reducing the exposure.....by 0.38. It also ends up showing some darker spots in the water most likely natural ......but a tad distracting. I also tried just decreasing the exposure of the egret a bit and leaving the water the same but it still came out a tad bright. I also tried contrast and got the same darker spots in the water.....so I think it is your call how and what you do.....they are all just minor tweaks that I think would make the image even better!!! |

Botswana is one of the spots I would like to try. Was not crazy about Tanzania, though it was a great trip, not one I would do again. Kenya, would certainly consider again, with a side trip to Botswana. Maybe one of these days! |

Stunning macro of the butterfly!!! Think next time Im going to try a higher F stop .....I tend to try to get that creamy background, but you have a fantastically clear crisp shot front to back of the flower. May give that a whirl next time! Very Nice image!!!!

Whoops, It is my Favorite bird in SW Florida, just wished we had them in Southeast Florida. They are very rare below Palm Beach. And I would bring the highlights down.....but I tend to prefer more subdued background colors to highlight the animal/bird. |

OK, for starters...I love these Gentle Giants! There is a 4 part series on Elephants on Nat Geo that was fantastic! Recently released. They are such unique creatures and so family oriented. They grieve for their lost pack members.
I love the title which accurately describes how everyone there treats elephants. Perhaps you could tone it down a bit, but I found the light is always so bright in Africa that I often had to tone things down a bit. Where in Africa were you when you took this? And you were driving? Braver than I for sure.
Overall the composition is very nice, shows off the elephant (and those beautiful tusks) and the road acts a really nice leading line into the elephant. I think its a keeper! |

What a classic behavior image of GBH! Fantastic . Tack sharp and all four interacting. We have not had nests with more than 2 successful hatchlings this year. Most are just one. The Wood Strorks dominated this year and we had a very cold snap in late December that was rough on the eggs. So nice to see this one has three viable chicks! This time of year for nesting it doesn't get much better! For some reason I had to go back and add in your camera settings, Cami....sorry they weren't there to begin with. It took three tries to finally get it to take them. |

My favorite bird in Florida, particularly when it is dancing! Great shot of their character! Just wish we had them on SW FL.

You were so lucky to have them all on the same plane!! I really like the end one sticking his nose in the air and ignoring the food mom brought! Wonderful shot!
What a great family portrait! and I found the D500 more tolerant of Iso than the 850. Particularly when paired with the 500PF. But I used both of them extensively and Denoise really can make a difference!
I might clone out the green leaf on the far right as well, or possibly just trim it lengthwise a little! |
