73 Apr 23 Reply Thank you Ian, I really hope to go back and try again! Ive never see more beautiful landscapes and waterfalls, though I might go into withdrawal, since there are pretty much only sea Gulls and Puffins (if you get lucky and go in the winter - not my choice of climates in winter months). 73 Apr 23 Reply I think it is actually the glaciers that have carved the land in Iceland. The Black Beach (so named because of the basaltic grit covering the beach) is amazing with the glaciers breaking off (calving and moving over to the ocean side with incredible shapes and sizes)! It is a magical place, desolate and yet people are extremely hospitable and love to show off their island! Apr 18th
73 Apr 23 Comment Love that leading line, love the lighting, and the sky! Really spot on image! I think Ian nailed it on the head....where have all the people gone???? You have captured a special moment of utter peace! Apr 18th
73 Apr 23 Comment Ian, I keep coming back and looking at this image, and something was in the back of my mind....I've finally figured out that it reminds me of what Florida looks like when a hurricane comes through. Your description of the heavy rain indeed fits with why the image looked so familiar, even though it was meant as an abstract....there is so much reality in it as well. So, while I'm not particularly inclined to think in terms of abstracts...(you know my strategy is always to get that eye tack sharp) it took some time to realize your innovation has it bases in reality as much as my tack sharp eye! Diversity is what photography is all about! Nicely done and great creative mind at work!! Apr 18th
73 Apr 23 Comment Just looking at the image makes me shover. Buffalo, with its lake effects can get buried in snow, and the loneliness of the harbor tells an accurate and frigid story. and the view of City Hall adds a little something extra to the image. Even the sky looks COLD!

Love the leading lines of the docks into the city skyline. Very Nice image

73 Apr 23 Comment Beautiful Pano! Love the layers and the sky and clouds. I expect that to be an awesome metallic print!!! Apr 18th
73 Apr 23 Comment Barbara, Long Beach Island was the destination of my first trip to the Jersey shore after we moved to Cherry Hill. It remained my favorite place while we lived in both South and North Jersey. Are there many birds at the Jersey Shore in the winter? I never photographed birds back in those days, I had two small children and they were as much as I could handle!

The texture and leading lines of the sand are certainly highlights of this imageI Draws you right into the photographers with all their heavy coats and gear! I might have considered getting that sand with the Lighthouse in the background , not sure whether that is even possible today. The atmosphere of cold and wind certainly permeated the image giving us a hint of the kind of day you encountered, I would have probably decided an inside breakfast place with hot coffee might be my solution! Nice image!

73 Apr 23 Comment I love the "environment" and the rustic outbuildings, not to mention those magnificently colored fields. The sky and the mountains in the background frame the image nicely. Must have been a beautiful day. I have never been to Czechoslovakia and did not know that had magnificent countryside like this image. Sometimes you wonder what other beautiful places you have missed! Thanks for sharing this. I like the way the layers pull you into the image and the many natural colors. Very beautiful place and image.

I do agree with Ian that removing the fence would be a good thing to do, but that is easy with a quick trip to Photoshop and removing it, or you can just trim it a little. But very small deal!

Unlike Barbara, I am not bothered by the watermark and I routinely use one. I do have it set on an opacity of 80 which mutes it a little, but I always use one and tend to place it in corner, pretty much like you have. While I don't think it would inhibit anyone from stealing our work, I want to make sure they have to WORK to do so. And as the admin, I actually find it helpful to make sure I have the right image with the correct person.

94 Apr 23 Comment What an incredible bird!! Certainly not on my life list!!! I find it amazing the variety of birds in South America! The eye, color around the bill and then those amazing feathers...just WOW!

Might I suggest you can make a new comment and add an additional image within that comment.....or perhaps you want to save it for next month! Bet we would all like to see it!!!

94 Apr 23 Comment Just Beautiful Cami! I continue to see the GBH interacting, which is very late in SFL. Usually the chicks are all fledged by now. But we still have a few young ones squeaking for food and parents still trying to hold their own keeping them with food.

Love the composition and birds positions, the gentleness of the handoff, and the way you have spotlighted the transfer.

Very nice image and capture!

94 Apr 23 Comment A personal comment first .....why are they called Red Bellied woodpeckers? Is it because they were identified after Red Headed Woodpeckers? And honestly a good many have red heads.

But they are enchanting little creatures and I love the food he has clearly stuffed in his mouth and the look of sheer joy!! And that tail is keeping him steady. Nice one!!!

I go to Green Cay a fair amount and know the exact spot this was taken. It is very dark and the high ISO is needed. But it really does not detract from the image and the bird is clear and sharp. Nice job. This is a perfect spot for Painted Buntings if you hit the right time...which has no predictability, you just get lucky or not! Though I fear the Buntings will be gone before long....until next year.

94 Apr 23 Comment I do not think the resolution is enough since the image was only 187 kb...so I would say it would be difficult to tell if the image is really sharp or not . I went into Gigapixel to upsize the image to 867 kb. I think you will find it is much improved. I did nothing other than upsize to get more pixels.

Agree the darker background would show off the Iguana better....

And I'm with Judy...they are pretty ugly creatures. I rarely even photograph Alligators, but also one of nature's creatures and I'm sure both serve a small niche in the reptile world.

94 Apr 23 Comment We have had very few Spoonbills on South East Coast this year, I suspect the climate change is sending them further north. I miss them, they are really magnificent birds. N ice background, nesting material in its beak, and perched nicely! Beautiful shot! Apr 18th
94 Apr 23 Comment Beautiful birds and two in flight, awesome catch. Colors are majestic ! Nicely done.

I am going to Coast Rico in November (my first trip post covid), and I am good and ready to travel! Costa Rico has some magnificent birds! Particularly Hummers. I just saw a great show about Hummingbirds and Costa Rico on PBS. But they certainly didn't focus on only hummingbirds.....just birds of CR in general. In case you see it advertised on your local PBS, you would enjoy watching it.
