No offense taken at all!!! Everyone has their thoughts and it is very subjective. Mine is very much colored by love of the area. We have been there 5 times since we were married and this was last time , I believe. we planned a couple of times now in past 3 years and family issues got in the way. |

As I look at this image more, I realized that it may actually be two sailboats. A smaller one trailing the larger. What do you think? And you are correct, the one cloud does look like it is trying to jump on the sun. Im a sucker for sunsets and Key West is an incredible place to get them. Where I live, sunsets over the water aren't possible, we have only sunrises. I usually go to the Everglades to get sunsets and they aren't dramatic like having it on the Ocean side. |

Thanks Dave, I did do some editing to remove the fence since this is really about the Mill....but I'm not sure at that point I would have thought of getting down to shoot through the fence...though I frequently do get down now, particularly with wildlife, and you are correct getting up is the challenge not the getting down! This is really about the memories and the texture of the building and age. It is probably one of my favorite places to visit! So many beautiful spots for landscape photography. I am hoping we will get to go back in the next year! |

Honestly Ian, when this was originally taken I did not use Photoshop at all! Today I would have cloned out the fence. In fact I tried to remove it by cropping and did not like the end result. What I should do is go back and remove the fence in PS. I took the image for the texture and "age" which I appreciate now more than I did then. And since traveling has been such a challenge given my current environment, I went fishing in my archives for an image aI really liked when I took it! I've actually given it a whirl and attached it! |

Dhanjay, this is not the most iconic barn, which is Molton's Barn in the Grand Tetons, and a favorite of most photographers. Sedona is a town and does not have the cache of the Grand Tetons, but often overlooked by many photographers. It was taken in the parking lot for Cathedral Rock....so if you go to see Cathedral Rock it's hard to miss! Sedona is the one spot I want to revisit since I have become a much better photographer since this was taken, and most likely took on Auto. But it is a beautiful spot and most often gets overlooked for the big name places. It is between Phoenix and Grand Canyon. so if you go to the Grand Canyon worth a couple hours drive to Sedona. |

Very Interesting tradition. Reminds me of some of the Native American dances that were used for rain to assure the crops were plentiful. I've tried panning shots and never been successful. They are difficult. I love the effect it creates on the "dragon". Unique piece of history and how that travels through the ages and creates traditions. |

This is a beautiful citysape. I am amazed you were able to keep the buildings in proper perspective. They all look pretty straight. You really make me want to visit Australia and have a grand time photographing landscapes! I like the slow shutter speed and the effect on the water and clouds! Nicely done Ian! |

With a burnt out sun I do not normally take the shot, but actually in this case, I agree. It creates a unique effect. I would have one suggestion, I would not put the beautiful sail boat in the center ( but not sure how you can still maintain all the clouds. May not be achievable in post production.....I love the clouds and the effect they get from the sun. And the bird adds some realism even if it is a shadow. |

The storm clouds rolling in give a great deal of texture to the image. I would be interested in knowing what the birds are that seem to be eating in the mid-ground. I have become and avid bird photographer since relocating to Florida. You can only take so many sunrises and sunsets! |

Gotta love Grebes and these two are precious! Clear, sharp , and the beads of water on the back of Mom adds some nice texture. They are one of my fave birds to shoot, always look so darn cute (Pied Billed Grebes her in Florida). Beautiful shot! |

I love the Great Egrets when they are in Breeding plumage. We are in the midst of it here, and I could watch them all day when they display. Nothing to add that others have not already said! But the "bones" of this shot are great and the modifications others have suggested should be easy to implement. |

Beautiful "Story" to this image. Interactions between the two is priceless! Only thing I would have suggested is the highlights and has already been said! Very nice capture .....Ive seen them in Costa Rico and found them difficult to shoot....of course you have no worries about them moving too fast .....but up in the trees are difficult places to shoot! Nice job! |

Perfect timing beats all the skill in the world. No matter how good a photographer you are....if you don't see it you can't use your skills! This is a great image! I took some Dolphin image s a few years ago and one "perfect" image with mother and baby jumping .......except, and a big except, the waves ended up with blown out highlights since we were out late morning. So while the dolphins were tack sharp...the highlights were irretrievable. Your water doesn't have a tiny hint of Blow Out! Interesting how our personal experiences lead us on our own specific path! Congrats! |

It is a really cool experience and having just witnessed it myself added to my enjoyment of your image. I agree a little more off center would be a good suggestion. I have taken many images of Florida Sandhill Cranes and I find getting them both sharp is difficult, kudos that you were able to do it! I think because they are always in motion and so darn big.....it is difficult unless you crank the F stop way up it is hard. I suspect they were on the same plane which made it better. But Very Nice Image and wait until you get to see the Colts ! |
