Dhananjay Great image particularly the sky, and while the building is central to the image, that sky is magnificent. Totally get why you did it portrait and zoomed in. That's the kind of sky that I would normally try and take an image of all by itself to have in my toolkit for sky replacement if needed. Beautiful! |

Dave, such a powerful image. And Ive seen that iconic images so frequently, but never with the atmosphere of this image. Your patience certainly paid off and you have come away with an incredibly beautiful image! Kudos to you. Thanks for sharing.
Congrats on the Sports image too. Ive tried doing my grandchildren while doing Soccer, Tennis, and Lacrosse among others and it takes a significant amount of skill and work. Well done! |

You are correct Ian, there is a very light second rainbow......and it disappeared right after I took the shot! |

Dave, I think the house may be standing but they took a full on hit from a Cat 4 hurricane with 10-12 ft storm surge. It will not be in 2023 that they are entirely back. The damage is incredible.....really sad since the two islands, Sanibel and Captiva, have no power, no water, and a great deal of damage. |

You apparently have quite an imagination! And you are correct, it really does suit the month of October. I've seen Maribou storks in Tanzania and Kenya and they are quite bizarre looking. I think they look like they've been in a fire and lost their head feathers. This image actually makes them look less scary. I love the background, adds to the mystery and the silhouette is great. Love the image and really like the frame you added, I think it adds to the image!
One of these days Botswana will be a future travel spot! I really have enjoyed traveling in Africa! |

Love this one Cami... And my opinion is your subject is really the damsel fly, not the heron's eye. And I'll second Sarita's comment it put a huge smile on my face!
Like Leslie, I agree If you can sharpen the eye, I too would go for it! Perhaps if you were submitting to a contest they would frown on sharpening, but then they would miss out on a fantastic image (IMHO).
I do have one recommendation, what I think is the catchlight in the eye looks like you added it with PS or were possibly using a flash attachment. It is only noticeable if you zoom in, but almost looks like an "@ sign. I would consider cloning out if possible. I know the catchlight is a great addition, but for some reason it looks more like an artifact than a real catchlight. |

Great shot of the deer and those antlers in velvet are striking! I like the image and love to photograph the Florida Deers, but they are much smaller than Northern Deer. But some of the racks are amazing! They frequent our National Wildlife Refuge near my home so I see them often.
Your image shows off that velvet rack nicely. I am not at all bothered by the 1/3 rule, I think you picked the best crop possible.
Now as for the Sony a7rIV it can certainly handle cropping with a 62 mb. raw image. I shoot with the same camera (and mostly birds - so I crop frequently) and I use the 100-400 lens and occasionally the tele (1.4). But I have found my images are not as sharp when using the converter. So I've taken to carrying it with me and if desperate will add it (i.e. bird is small and far away) but otherwise choose to shoot without teleconverter. I still find I have to push the ISO higher than I like , but the image comes out better without it. But I have not done a side by side comparison because with birds the moment is too important. So my suggestion is crop, but not based on any valid comparison, just my experience with the converter which is not insignificant, but a "gut" feel . |

Awesome moment to capture, Sarita! Osprey are my favorite raptor, they are just so powerful and watching them pull a fish out of the water is the ultimate. I frequently find I am so fascinated by their struggle and the power they use I miss the shot!
You have capture the power nicely. Your background is great and the cropping is perfect, you have left room on the right for him to move into and you kept the bit of reflectional the bottom. You didn't mention any post processing, but if you're like me, you took it through Topaz. I might suggest backing off on the sharpening just a tad. The slightly blurred wing doesn't bother me because I suspect between the wet feathers and power needed to pull that fish out it would have been difficult. And it is also possible what I am seeing is related to the wet feathers and not really over sharpening. Can't decide for sure, but it seems a little "brittle" to me. Just my thoughts, and may certainly not be yours. |
