I really like your edits.....and I had it professionally printed and they did lighten the grass. I don't know Affinity preset...can you share a little more about it. The crop I like... I struggled with the way the crosses are placed since they are set with the one in front and the other two behind ...plus I wanted to capture as much of the predawn sky which lasted only a few minutes and these crosses are placed at the top of the hill, while I was at the bottom trying to get the sky and crosses. Was not the best spot and I got much better when I went up but light was gone by then. Had I had PS with the sky replacement at the time I could have done much better...but I did't have the capability. Perhaps I could try with a few others that I like the cross arrangement better......now that I know how to use it!! Thanks for the suggestions! |

Nicely done!! I can't seem to control burnout with my phone either, but really it reflects what we see with the naked eyes. Love the interesting background of the homes and field and fences. But the Wind turbines ...makes you realize how truly big they are....WOW! But......if we are going to save our planet we are going to have to look at other options than fossil fuels. I like the image and I'm a midwest girl at heart having lived in Cleveland and Michigan while growing up. Except for the Wind Turbines .....fits my memory of midwest life. |

Hard to believe there is anything below all those "low hanging clouds/mist". But then you see the tree line below and you realize that is a deep valley. I think you were wise to allow us to see the trees at the top so that we realize how deep that valley really is.....Sometime you will have to share an image after the mist has dissipated. I would guess the vista is also beautiful.
And the light of sunrise is perfect. Those barely pink horizons are perfect. And the hint of the light hitting the mountains in the background. Very nice !! |

WOW! Im not sure which part surprises me more....the ancient structure or the obviously crowded city beyond. It reminds me a little of images I've seen of the Great Wall in China (only images, unfortunately), but just a little portion of it. The vista is amazing and the anachronism of the wall adds a great deal to the image. I like it a great deal. |

Unique venue...don't think I have ever seen a mining platform before.....had to read the description to understand what was going on. Your thought process and planning exactly what you wanted to achieve is great, I know when I do animals I plan very carefully knowing their habits and anticipate what they will do.... but I've taken a much looser planning process for landscapes (and it probably shows), I see something that looks beautiful to me and then figure out how to get my camera to see what I am seeing. I am pretty sure your way works much better! From a scale perspective...how tall is this structure? I suspect much larger than I picture.
I do think you have done this justice in your planning and given the unique capture with the setting sun adds to the image. Well done!

I know exactly where this is...near Balanced Rock. I have the same image but mine did not turn out so well, we were there in the late evening and I could not get it processed so the shadows were pretty bad. Mine was taken several years ago...and did not have the capability of editing as we do today. It is a beautiful location and you have captured it in a pleasing manner.....and your thought process was just like mine. I thought the mountains added a perception of of depth to the image. It is overall very well done.
The only thing I would consider is the way you cropped, you ended up showing just a smidgen of the far left rock, I'm sure to keep as much of those gorgeous mountains in the background. I suspect you were trying to keep to a standard size...but just a guess (might also be to straighten the horizon line). That tiny little bit actually adds a great deal to the photo, rather than a cut off piece, IMHO. Part of my concern may be I know what it looks like. But I would suggest either clone out the edge so that that tiny piece of the rock does not show, or see if you can crop it to the edge.
But rememnber this is just a tiny little piece of the entire image. It is really nicely done and you have captured both the rocks and the mountains ....and I like it a lot! |

Eagle month!! Both you and Sarita and Peter has an Osprey, maybe I should say raptor month.
Gorgeous capture. He is sharp and clear and the wing spread is beautiful. Great feather detail and I love the wing position. Nice and not much else I can say...except, I really need to go and find some Eagles in the wild!!! |

I am surprised at how clear this came out with such a severe crop. It is small but clearly can handle the crop. You might want to consider, if you have Topaz Gigapixel to see if it would give you more size to work with. I've tried it and on some things it works and others not so much. But might be worth a try.
Beautiful hummingbird , one I've not had the pleasure of encountering. You have brought out the colors nicely. since your original is pretty dark you had little to work with. nice! |

Beautiful Osprey! I'm going up next week to do nesting Osprey in Vero Beach for a morning. I use the A7rIV and the 100-400 lens and I once I got used to it Im making friends with it. The challenge is the menu system......but I'm getting there.
I love his feathers all ruffled, either it was very windy or it was from his dip in the ocean for food. I might just lower the highlights a tad.....nothings blown out but there is a lot of white showing on the Osprey and they usually have more dark feathers. It might even be juvenile which might explain the coloring. But I would certainly try and tame the highlights just to lessen the brightness. I like the crop, got lots of room to move into the frame and he intersects that top left quadrant. But over all for a new camera looks like you have adjusted nicely! |

Strong image Sarita, I love the details in the feathers and the determined expression on her face. I have yet to encounter an eagle in the wild......I know that they are out there somewhere and one day I will come across one! So glad you had an opportunity. Not anything I would do differently given this image. I really like it! |
