You are correct it would flip the lettering. With birds that does not matter. And It would not have been possible to get the image I did going from left to right. But I have never heard that comment before so I was surprised and the only thing I could think of was the tendency to read from left to right. |

Carol sorry somehow I deleted your comment on my image while trying to reply. Sorry but I put a question on János that I would love for you to read and give your thoughts. |

I accidentally pushed delete on Carol's comment 😬 and I could not get it back. I will let her know and apologize. I'm curious as to why it would be more pleasing reading from left to right. Just because we read from left to right? I guess because I could not have gotten the shot from left to right and would have missed the reflection on the other side it did not occur to me to flip it. I do that often with birds but did not occur to me with this image. |

This is, as always a beautiful image, but this one is so sell composed and those colors along with the rolling hills are just fantastic! For me this image is too soothing and peaceful. So a question of how you managed to get such clarity with an F stop of 9.0. Your image is clear and sharp throughout. I know the Nikon 850 well and use it on most of my landscapes. I would be interested since Carol used an f stop of 9.0 and could not get clarity throughout. Any thought or ideas? |

I know nothing about Infared....so take my comments with that understanding. I would be interested to see the original. I love that old fence and the mountains in the background, I would be tempted to crop it back to eliminate some of the sky since other than the clouds there is not a lot of interest there. Wish I knew more to give a fair evaluation. Everything for me is in my color world....sorry.
By the way for the others in the Group, Ian has been in and out of serious lockdown this past year. I just read an article and apparently they were restricted to within 3 miles of their home and were only allowed out to exercise 2 hrs/day. Pretty restrictive for a photographer and Ian is welcome to add or subtract from the article I read! |

So there are so many things I want to know about this image. Having never gotten an interest in drones, I realize they have some incredible views that you would never get otherwise. Love the color of the lake, the interesting features like those boxes right in the middle. The roads are interesting and the mini mansions (or I think they are). IS there also a small beach? I can't tell if that is rock or sand. When I visited Lago Maggiore there was no sand only what looked like shale. The composition with the lake leading you into the image is nice and the color of the lake spectacular! Nice job. |

What an incredible moment in time to capture! I think you were a patient man to get that moment! I would consider cropping some of the sky to put more focus on the bolt of lightening and the deluge of water coming out of the cloud. Can't imagine what damage it did to that mountain top. Really nice image. |

I think it is the size of the file more than anything. although it is almost 1mb for some reason it did not maintain. As for softness you're probably not going to see clarity at 9.0. In general I shoot landscapes at a minimum of F/11 and you had decent light to pull that off. But in fairness I've never worked with a Fuji. I assume you were using aperture priority? I am not overly troubled by the trees not being sharp, I really think you can tell what they are and know they are a long way off. I like the reflections in the water from the little islands of grass and the calm water reinforces that sense of tranquility. |

Their head is pretty dull.... but when mating season happens their color is magnificent (even the pink and the orange on their tail intensify) and the head becomes a darker green (still paler than the rest of them but distinctly green). Your green is indeed a little brighter than mine and I think it looks fine. These are beautiful birds year round! |

Judy, we go to Captiva every August with the whole family and I have been lucky enough the past 3 years to get Spoonies at that time. On the East coast they disappear in high summer and don't come back till September. I've been there in Spring on a day trip and there were Spoonbills then as well. What I found is sunrise for about an hour then they fade back into the trees to sleep. |

If anyone is interested let me know by replying to this comment. Tom Bol, a Professional photographer, just posted a blog on the Nikon Website (I believe) about photographing hummers. and one of the specific things he mentioned was you have to start out knowing if you want the wings blurred or sharp. Good generic article even if it is on the Nikon space. I just have to find the link. |

I love eagles and this is a beautiful image of that incredible bird. You have the wings clearly visible as well as that white head that stands out and draws you into the image. Looks to me like he might have something in his talon but not clear enough to see. The look of determination is incredible! Great image. |

Rugged beautiful terrain. Reminds me of a view in the Iceland just warmer and no waterfalls. I think we forget that there are large swaths of desolate land in America. Those roads give you leading lines into the mountains which helps draw the eye through the image. Nicely done. |

I really like the tractor and person in it.....gives you perspective of the size of the sunflowers field. I also like the sky substitution. It is slightly different but still. maintains the correct lighting. I am amazed at how well PS does with that feature. |

I rarely get to see any hummingbirds around here, yet I know they are somewhere. We just haven't crossed paths yet! They are for me one of the tougher birds to capture because of their speed. You did a great job of isolating the head and allowing the wings to show movement. |

I love the "action" you captured in this image. He definitely looks surprised. Your positioning of the bird in the frame is great, leaving plenty of room in front of him. Nice job!!! |
