Glad you are doing so well....and my Dad had so many other complicating factors, including a previous Open Heart Bypass along with significant lung disease, osteoarthritis, and of course much older. It was the right thing for him at the time, but I can understand without those the factors the Open Heart gives you much better quality of life in the longer run. Glad it over and now just get through the rehab! |

Hope you are on the mend! my Dad had a mitral valve surgery and they did not open his chest (i.e. Open Heart). much quicker recovery and he was in his late eighties at that point with many additional challenges so was. not a candidate for Open Heart. His recovery was pretty quick. If they cracked your chest you will be sore for awhile, so don't mess it up doing things that you're told not to do!!! Perhaps have someone set up a tripod and put the camera on it ........we want you back to 100%! |

So we all know I am a sucker for smooth water, but this is very nicely done. You can see the movement as well as the cotton candy look of the falls! Very nice! |

That reflection is incredible! Just a stunning image, as always, Peter! They really don't get much better than this! I suspect it was pretty cold and interesting I really like the footprints in the snow, it shows me that this is reality. |

Ok, so I love this one as well as your image on Group 76. Hard to say which pone I like more, but both of them are pretty special. I like that this one clearly identifies it as a lunar eclipse vs a new moon and it is still very subtle. If you print them yourself and see which one looks better in print might be the way to go and use the other one as a Home Screen. I can definitively say these are well done! |

The site is beautiful , was this taken from a helicopter or drone? The scope is magnificent and the image is crystal clear. The one thing I would do is straighten the horizon line...perhaps it is an optical illusion but I don't think so. I would also like to know some specifics about the details, like what camera, F stop, etc. |

Dave, The more I look at this the more I like it, the colors are remarkable, but one thing, if it were mine, I would cut out a good portion of the sky and make it a pano. I'm not sure you don't get more impact by putting the mountains in the background a more significant part of the image. The sky overpowers everything in this crop and those mountains would add a great deal. Im going to try the it and Ill attach it to see what you think! |

I will not lie....your image influenced my choice for this month. I saw your clouds, mist and mountains and thought of my Glacier Image! So I decided to post that one this month. Like Ian, I would not worry over much about the trees not be tack sharp, the image is about the mountain. I love your layers and in particular the color in the water is an excellent base for the rest of the image. Just beautiful! |

Ian, I think I had these reversed when I posted. I have them in the correct order now! |

Definitely striking image.......That is one that I would frame and display prominently somewhere in my home. Now sure how many pixels you have to work with but I would certainly make it as large as pixels will allow. As to whether it makes me ask questions.....since I too was glued to the lunar eclipse, those questions were already in my mind....like will man ever get up there again and how will we tame it and will we ruin it just like we are doing to earth? Those were all in my mind as I was shooting the eclipse.
Love this image Ian!! |

Sorry, I ,missed your question....and I agree with Mark. I think some your body is blown out (not all because the white is where it would show. Do you look for blinkies? When I process I usually adjust my whites to minimize hot spots. Look at your image in LR and check to see if you have some highlights blown out. |

Great image, perfect reflection and cropping. Bird is sharp and the beak, reflection and shadow all add to the composition. Very Nice!

Such a beautiful setting, love the colors, detail the way you have cropped this image with an angle. I like it very much!
What was your F stop and were you on a tripod? 1/125 sec is hard to handhold without getting camera shake but I've never sued a 90mm lens so that may be just my lack of experience. |

Beautiful shot and timing is impeccable! Were you shooting a burst to get the exact moment? The cropping is perfect with fantastic placement of the bird and the detail is great! |

I started shooting some of the "wild flowers" in our wetlands and find them to be particularly challenging because they are growing wild and never are "clean"have some imperfections from growing in a wild environment (no one to feed and water them daily other than Mother Nature) and lots of wildlife tromping around. So I am not overly concerned about the brown spots but I probably would have done some spot removal if it were me....that being said, many would not agree with me.
Your image was really small from cropping so I think the image is blurred from the small size. Not sure if the original full size was blurred. |

Peter, I love the colors of the water as a background. Night Herons can be very elusive and buried deep in the bushes so catching one in flight against that background is great.
The bird is a little soft, but not sure if that is due to cropping, shutter speed, or focus. I usually shot BIF at 2000 minimum but with the teleconverter you may have had to sacrifice shutter speed because of the F stop. You might try running it through topaz to see if it helps. |

Fantastic .....sharp, the bird's body ends up as the leading line into that mouth! I just love the expression you've captured and wonder why the coughing. I would have thought it was trying to cough something up as well. Though the only bird I've seen do that are the raptors that cough up pellets. Great image! |
