When I was there we did the lake that is the most famous, not sure its name..but it is the one that they have on all their local brochures. We did sunrise and the glow was magnificent. This one was different than most I have seen so I really liked it. |

Just stunning. Those colors are incredible and the textures are marvelous! It is crisp and totally focused through the image. Those rolling hills draw me in and I don't want to leave! I only wish I had taken this one!!!! |

Haunting might be the name of this image. You can clearly see the rain coming down in the bottom left and the ocean seems so calm given the abundance of storm clouds. It is all about the clouds! It is still a little pixelated when you magnify it, but even after sending me the second one it was only 527 kb, I did not have reduce the size at all.
I took it though Denoise and I suspect he problem is in fact noise. I have attached the image and just used their auto setting. See what you think! |

I know nothing about drone photography but Ian is right, there is a lot of pixilation in the bottom right (not left). I checked and the image is 854 kb which should not cause that effect, but it might be something specific to drone photography. This is a very barren area and yet I believe those are wooden steps in the foreground. Please share a little about the area if you don't mind.
The image is very interesting and brings out my quest for more information about the place! |

Great image with fantastic colors and those clouds. The one almost looks like it is a lenticular cloud. Agree with Ian, fantastic DOF. I might consider cropping down form the top a little, I think it might draw the focus even more the cloud formation. Very nicely done! |

Christine, I think she was looking at our other Land Rover since we were the only ones there at the time and they were in front of us. It gave me a comfort that if she was going to get upset with someone it would be the other vehicle

I too have always had that same bias, and because I use Instagram I've found that square just works better. Someone in one of my former groups also told me that it has a higher percentage of wins in competition. Not sure if that is true or not......but it made me stop and think about using the square in some circumstances. |

Beautiful reflection, leading lines curving into the mountain are fantastic. And that dark red underbrush sets off the tree line nicely. Were you on a tripod or did you do this handheld. If handheld you have a very steady hand. Nicely done! |

Beautiful bokeh, nice creamy background, and great sharpness in the butterfly and the flower. The color pallette is very nice from green to pink to yellow. Very nice image! |

This is a fantastic image. Mushrooms/Fungi get a bad "wrap" when in fact the are extremely interesting subjects. The colors on this one are striking. Have you thought about making this a square composition. I put some paper up and I think it might be worthwhile giving it a try. It takes away the blurred foreground and your eye automatically goes to the fungi since it is the lightest thing in the frame and the angle becomes more important (which really shows off the underside of the mushroom). Just a thought........because either way it is a great image. |

Love the colors on this bird. He/She really had to work at getting that branch off. Nesting is the most interesting time of the year, and we have just finished with the babies here in the US. It is amazing how well her colors blend into the greenish leaves. That face is super sharp and the eyes are amazing. And yes the branches are there but that is what you come to grips with in wildlife photography. |

This is the screen shot with the Golden Spiral instead of rule of thirds. I guess my question is ....are they really that different? I don't think so, but I have been using the golden spiral for a while and never had anyone else notice. So Im curious more than anything. You are correct this does not put it in the intersection but it does put it in the spiral. I think the theory is that is where the eye goes first within the spiral. Open to thoughts and would like a conversation as to what everyone in the group thinks. |

Interesting that you both have similar thoughts. About a year ago I switched from using the rule of thirds to the Golden Spiral (based on the Fibonacci Series) and it is very similar to the rule of thirds, just slightly different, but enough for you to pick up on it. In general I much prefer to use the Golden Ratio/Spiral. But on this particular image it makes a difference. I am attaching a screen shot for you to compare. The second one I'll put under Sarita's comment and you can compare the two. I would appreciate your thoughts.
