23 Jul 19 Comment I love doing sunrises and find them a challenge as well. This is a beautiful shot. I would have liked to see more of the pier but the angle of where the sun rises makes it a little difficult. I have found the clouds that are ever present on the horizon make sunrise more of a challenge. Less of the gorgeous pink colors that you see further north. There must be a reason for that but very different in Florida. Jul 11th
23 Jul 19 Comment Love this image. We were in Annecy, France two years ago and loved all beautiful reflections. Canals are spectacular places to get nice reflections because they tend to be so still. Your Point and shoot is a great camera, and light as well! I have a Sony Rx1r and it is my go to when I need to carry something light. It too takes beautiful shots.Eventually I will probably shift over to a Sony mirrorless just for the weight factor. Jul 11th
23 Jul 19 Comment I like the shot, those mountains in the background are stunning with that blue sky. I might consider a pano and crop at the large rock in the center. That could perhaps drag you into the background and take away all the clutter that prevents the eye from roving to the beautiful mountains. The rocks on the bottom might even stand alone as a detail shot. But overall i love the scene. Jul 11th
23 Jul 19 Comment Very creative! You certainly know how to use PS! Jul 11th
23 Jul 19 Comment Those eyes really grab you. Lovely portrait. I am envious, still awaiting my shot at a Bald Eagle! That beak is impressive. Jul 11th
23 Jul 19 Comment Great shot of a very tired cub. Love the clarity and great shallow depth of field Very nice. Jul 11th

73 Jul 19 Reply I never even noticed the sign and three dots (Im pretty sure they are lights for the pathway/road).And they are easy enough to remove. This was taken from the resort where we stayed while in Arenal. Central America is very close for me and the Rain Forest was the attraction for a photographer. It was the first (and only) time I did Zip lining. But going through the cloud forest on a Zip Line was exciting! Jul 26th
73 Jul 19 Reply The beauty of Costa Rico is it is a short and relatively inexpensive flight and you can stay in less expensive places, the challenge is getting around. The infrastructure is not what we are accustomed to in the states. This was a photo trek and I know two really fantastic folks that do treks to Costa Rico. Mark Smith does one in the fall, I think and he is a fantastic mentor! Check him out at MarkSmithPhotography.com. I've gone with him on birding workshops and you will not find a better photographer and nice guy overall! Also I think Steve Gettle does them at Backcountry galleries. I think both are small groups. I've read all of Steve's books. He has a dynamite one on the Nikon Autofocus system. Also think there is someone within PSA that does small groups, will find his card and DM you. It is a great way to learn and meet fellow photographers. and Costa Rico is probably the least expensive. Another one to check out is Reed Hoffman he does one in Monument Valley every spring that is fantastic and since it is in US and local it is pretty reasonably priced. This year they did a lot of night photography. Reed is a dynamite photographer, and Ive been with him on multiple trips including one in Monument Valley. Jul 17th
73 Jul 19 Reply I think the detail extractor in Nik uses sharpening as one of the tools to bring our detail.....so I am sure that's what did it, I even backed the opacity down of the NIK. So I might instead use a mask in LR to try and darken the clouds. There are always more ways than one to get what you want. I kept skipping over those shots because they're so flat from the clouds but really like the composition. Thanks Ian Jul 11th
73 Jul 19 Comment Beautiful sunrise in a spectacular area! Nothing beats the Rockies in the continental states! Love the color palette (pink and blue of the sky and the red rocks/green pines of the mountains and smooth water), and the majesty of the mountains all blend together to make a beautiful image! Thanks for sharing! Bravo! Jul 11th
73 Jul 19 Comment Not much to add to what others have said ! Perfectly stunning image. Love the way you blended them......wish i was that good with Photoshop. i keep trying but I am not great at it! Im going to give Astrophotography a try but I think it will take a while to get the quality of this image. Jul 11th
73 Jul 19 Comment So, Vivid Sydney is now on my bucket list! I have always wanted to travel to Australia and New Zealand, but the length of the flights concern me. I can imagine being carried off the final leg ....from lack of sleep. I am not a great airplane sleeper. But the whole light show concept is intriguing even if I can't capture it on my camera! This shot is really clear given the long exposure and the colors are stunning. For me that would be hung on my wall.....and hope you consider doing so! Jul 11th
73 Jul 19 Comment I like this image, it is a gorgeous building, and I don't think it is super grainy. The sunset in the windows is striking . Inquiring minds want to know what do the other two sides look like? I might cut some of the sky out, it doesn't add much to the photo. Jul 9th
73 Jul 19 Comment I love mountains, but wish I had a Vivid experience like Sydney, and my image is not in US. So no collusion thereðŸ˜. And you nailed the halo, now I have to figure out how to get rid of it. Those clouds were oppressive. No let up so I wanted to add mood. Guess I'll have to try again. But the road was very intentional as a leading line. Jul 9th

76 Jul 19 Comment Ian, this is a great minimalist shot. Agree with everyone else this says calm and somewhat lonely but isn't that what we try for....touching the emotions of the viewer? Nice, nice, nice. Love it! Jul 11th
