Thanks Dave, that is really what drew me to the photo to begin with ..... so what I did do is crop the mage to get rid of most of the spots and put it through Topaz detail extractor, still like it better as a landscape but this lets me salvage the layers that I love. See what you think . |

I had a terrible time with the blowing wind and gritty sand in this location. In fact I would tell you the whole trip required significant vigilance. That's why I did not dehaze to begin with in this photo. The only reason I picked it, it was one of the few that had any processing completed. The layers are lovely byut I think perhaps I just give up on this photo and see if any others are better. Still have many to work on since we had no time while we were there to do anything but download! |

Beautiful interpretation! Love the sky and the person daydreaming looking out the window! For me this one is much more impactful and overall "lighter" feeling! |

I really like the concentration on the game. The distracted certainly does show how volatile the concentration is, but the focus is most interesting. Have you thought about combining them into one photo?
Unlike Richard, I think her face is pretty sharp and clear in your main photo and can't see much of her face int he other.
I too love to document the Granddaughter's sports. Since I have never photographed sports it was a challenge for me at the beginning. My grands all play soccer and then some one does tennis and one does ALL sports (soccer, LAX, volleyball ......etc.). Getting the action frozen takes a fast camera and while I have gotten better, I have a long way to go! It is fun and a challenge! |

Marilyn, nice portrait! Clear and sharp. Good placement of the model and lighting is even. The green hat stands out and the circular lines draw you into the face. |

I do like the shot, it is so typical Icelandic landscape. I was amazed at how much of the country is so empty. Everyone seems to be located in Reykjavik and all the others areas are desolate. We did not go to this crater, but taking the shot from an airplane is a great skill! I have rarely been successful since I always get reflections. Had you not said something I would have suspected a drone shot on this one. The location is impressive and I agree with Dave, it does show depth. Now swimming in their temperature.......not so appealing. |

David, I used F/22 to get the exposure long enough to get the smooth water. I do not use ND filters....though this trip that may have been short sighted. I just think they are so fussy and a real pain! I have tried looking for a decent one but they are just so expensive and way too many choices. Anyone out there have any examples of decent ones? |

This is not a crop of the "original". This is original framing except for horizon straightening (my constant nemesis). I took the original and then made the decision to go in for a much tighter shot with the lower falls.
I took the original to get the reflection in the front of the falls and get a feel for the entire opportunity. I really LOVE longer exposures with moving water. They look so ethereal and "lighter". |

I like this shot! The walkway pulls you into the scene and the green umbrellas make the scene pop! The wind "thingy" (that red white sock) tells me immediately it is an airfield so I start looking for planes ...and there they are! Nice composition! |

Amazing how lessons like that really make you think next time! Regardless this is a very nice image. It is clear and crisp like the weather while you were there. Had you not mentioned the effort to get it with an ND filter I would have never thought about it other than it is gorgeous photo! The pathway leads you right into the light and the tall grasses are stunning. The snow makes me shiver. Very nice shot even if that was not what you had planned. |

WOW! I am very jealous! Just came back from Iceland and thou most areas saw the Northern Lights on one night, we were socked in with clouds so did not get to see them. Didn't see puffins either :-(.
Beautiful is all I can say! I would consider at least getting rid of the city lights on the left. They are the most distracting, but with or without them this is a stunner! |

Rough coastline, moody sky all make this a great image! The ND filter made for very nice water and the moody sky. Interesting since I know many that use ND filters a great deal, but I generally do not use them. I find them too fussy. I usually just up my f-stop to get a longer exposure, and it generally works. What I did notice in Iceland was that the cloudy skies were often problematic. I might have tried one there on a couple of days.
Great image. |

I am with Ian, you should straighten the horizon. I think it is distracting. Not sure but it may be natural but when I look at a photo I immediately want to straighten a crooked horizon whether it is natural or not.
Are those all birds on the water?
Like the pano of the shoreline.

Very nice image. Love the foggy morning and daybreak. Your post processing certainly took an OK photo and maddest into a stunning image. Agree with Ian that I would remove those 2 branches on the bottom right and the channel marker. They do not add to the photo and instead distract since the subject is that beautiful sail boat.
Like this image a great deal. |
