The Mustelidae (from Latin mustela, weasel) are a family of carnivorous mammals, including weasels, badgers, otters, martens, mink, and wolverines, among others. Mustelids are diverse and the largest family in the order Carnivora .
Since I am a Biology major ....had to investigate and I was pretty accurate overall. I suspect the name polecat is European in origin and never took off across the pond! Thanks for getting me close enough to satisfy my curiosity. |

I would not want to run into this one while I was swimming. Fanciful! |

Beautiful detail and perfect framing (I know that must have taken some work). The colors all pop and the dragon is certainly fanciful and proclaims what the float is representing. Gorgeous image and kudos to the volunteers who put it all together. |

Nice job! You even captured the clay spraying off the racquet . I have started to capture my Granddaughters in their soccer matches, and getting just the right moment is challenging! You have captured the facial expressions, in air, and pretty darn close to when the ball came off the racquet. Well done. |

Had to look this one up. It is a fern? Great detail on what you wanted and blurred background on the rest. I think you achieved what you set out to accomplish. Great Macro

That twig looks almost as big as she/he. Feathers are well defined and that wing spread is impressive. Birds in flight are difficult and even more so when your camera doesn't focus. Very nice pic. A shame the clouds were so pervasive. A but sky with some clouds would have set the bird off nicely. |

Fantastic! Tack sharp and I think he is going to jump out at me! Wildlife photography is probably my second favorite (Landscapes come first but not by much). So what is a polecat? Looks like some sort of weasel. |

I am not so much an ND filter user. But you are correct I should have one and USE it. I am going to Iceland in August so I think I might get one for the trip. |

It was...and I was so hoping for calm to get a reflection of the mountains. But that is photography - Trying to make lemonade out of lemons! |

Very nice shot with great depth. Bet this is beautiful in the spring as well when the light green is just beginning. The road provides a great leading line. Draws you right into the picture. Nicely done. |

Beautiful shot ! Makes me homesick! We lived in NJ for 20 years and went in the NYC often. So where were you when you took this? All those years and I never took a shot of the city......what was I thinking? Clearly I was NOT! |

This photo shows how patient you have to be to capture lightening. I have tried many times and the only way I have captured it is on video and then pulled out one frame.
This pic shows the power of ligtening and patience all at one! My one question, how do you have lightning without thunder? Is there some scientific reason ? |

I like the photo, assume this is the super moon?
This setting is great, the barrels give it character. Conversely to what Ian thinks I was going to suggest cloning out the right barrel and extend the fence line....so I tried it and it was pretty bad...so instead I cropped it to remove the barrel and lightened the shadows to improve the barn. I have attached for you to see what you think. It may be better with just the barn lightened a little......
I have a love hate relationship with taking super moon shots....mainly because I can't do them very well! I have incredible, detailed shots of the supermoon but it is all about the setting and I have yet to find the right spot. I have been trying to get a shot on the beach at moonrise for past three super moons but between clouds and my skills, still not accomplished. |

Beautiful image. Ian is right - the photos taken from low viewpoints always have something special about them. Nice detail on the rocks. Very nice capture. Sounds like it is a very popular spot!
I wonder what this one would look like with smooth water? They have different "feelings" - one being power and the other more meditative. But, food for thought next time you are photographing water. |
