Prefer the original. Much more dramatic and really shows Mother Nature's power. The detail is more pronounced in the second, but you have plenty of detail in the other one and have the powerful clouds as well. |

Interesting you should suggest that since it was darker to begin with and I did some dodge to lighten. I find that if I print something it always turns out much darker than I expect even when I export from LR for print quality. But I wonder if I just took it a tad too far.Since I wanted to try printing this one perhaps I will print first and see how it looks. |

I think I prefer the original. The filter adds some beauty to the sky, but takes away the natural look to the trees and rocks,. Don't know the program you used but can you graduate it so that it only adds to the sky? I am a fan of NIK software have you tried that? |

Beautiful gardenia (how did you find one so "perfect") and photo. The detail is exquisite, and I can almost smell the fragrance. Gardenias are my favorite flower and since I moved to Florida have added a large pot of them on our patio. Now if I could just figure out how to tame the aphids! |

Makes me think of Christmas and the holidays for sure! The church is beautiful and set off by the frosted trees. Very subtle image, but captivating, and makes me want to go to the place and photograph a moment like that. |

Very nice sunrise, and yes they are special here in Florida! Amazing what we can do with technology today. |

Like this picture very much. Not only is the animal unique it matches the character of the gentleman. Trying to figure out the "bib" on the llama? Is he a panhandler? But that does not fit with the lunch that is sitting on the table. The white beard and the santas in the background really add to the ambiance. Thanks for sharing such an interesting picture. |

Where were you taking this from? Did you have to climb up to get it or was it an overlook? It is so difficult to deal with clouds that dense. Very tough to even get good focus because your camera senses the clouds as the focus point.
I tried that on top of Mt. Evan (14,000 ft) in Denver and finally gave up. Not worth it because you could not see anything, let alone take a picture! I would imagine without the clouds this is a stunning vista. |

SO, I love both ....but the panorama is stunning. Really beautiful sunrise capture (that and the blue hour right before are my favorite time to shoot - the light is just so beautiful) . Very nice job! |

Gorgeous photo. the reflections are incredible and colors palette very soothing. VERY nice job. Mother nature not so bad either!
I started with a 5000 then went to a 610 and now use the 750. When you get to a full frame you will love the added pixels. As I mentioned before, have you thought about a refurb? They' re more reasonable priced. The biggest challenge is you really need new lens ...the DX lens are quirky on the FX bodies. You loose the capability of the FX. Start saving....or maybe ask for your birthday if you have close family nearby. |

My dream is the Mighty 850!!! But it is pretty pricey. I considered the D550 but in talking with my pro photography friend he convinced me to hold out for the 850. I have a 7100 I use with my 500mm lens to extend the zoom but he is right much better off with he 850. Just need to save for it, or perhaps get it as a refurbed some time next year. I have found that to be a viable alternative. |

Replying to both Tuhin and David, I agree the tighter cropping would enhance the photo. I was trying to minimize my edits to what was essential, but I think you are correct, the panorama would be very effective. |

I was focusing on the refection since that is really what was so special . Settings were: 1/50 sec, f/5.6, ISO 500. It was still quite dusky so all done on a tripod. I shot it with a nikon D750 and my 24 to 120 lens. The thing I noticed about the Alps, which our guide shared is over a certain level (I think 8000 ft) no trees will grow which makes for a very stark landscape. The altitude here was about 12,000 ft. But of course they do everything in meters which means you have to convert. We were hoping for some clouds but no cooperation there. When the sun hit the peaks they glowed (sample in Tuhin's reply), but then the reflection was distorted from he wind. |

You are correct, I missed the tent on this one. Of course I took multiple and will try your technique! Thanks. My favorite is when the peaks begin to glow. But by then a wind had kicked up and blurred the reflection. Sometimes you have to take what you get. Liked the glow, but not so much the reflection. |
