Hi Andrew - this is a very interesting image. I also would like to see a sharper version - I want to get more detail of the three blocks below the text. I wonder if you might even create a triptych of signs - using this one and any you might find inside the abandoned station. Together they might tell an even wider story! |

Hi Tom - this image has such an interesting story to tell. I like that you have brought out detail to give added depth - and I think Cindy's edits to take that even further enhance the image. |

Hi Bob - what a find in your backyard. The fungi colours are beautiful and contrast well with the tree trunk. Like Jessica has suggested, I would probably use a subtle vignette to give more focus to the fungi. |

Hi Nelson - great composition and detail. You have captured detail in each aspect of the image, and like Tom, I like that the low string is at the front. Being a 5-string makes it so much more interesting, along with the well-detailed wood and metal. |

Hi Cindy - your capture and processing really tell a story. The petals with slight brown tinge, the fallen stamens exposing the stigma for the bee, the bee itself. I also like your DOF and detail left in the background. Well done. |

Hi Jessica - what a wonderful capture! I love the flower-like lines etched in the metal patina by the long process of peeling paint. Your composition is spot-on, the colour toning adds interest. Well done :) |

Hi Denise - this image is stunning! Thanks for letting us know about the selective colour selection in Lightroom - it will be very helpful. I do like Carol's crop. Otherwise, it is just perfect :) |

Hi Rita - I like this image. I feel Denise's crop strengthens its story. I like Georgianne's edits, and the front being lighter focuses my view on the footprints as a path. Good capture! |

Hi Jan - you've created a lovely image with your processing. I really like your colour tonings and horizontal crop. I like the shadows; they ground the sail boat and trees. I often apply a slight blur to shadows, with a gradient so that they are less blurred where they join the physical object and the blur increases the further out they go. Your additions to the image really elevate it. |

Hi Connie - thanks for sharing this image and your process of experimentation. Like Georgianne I have never used the glowing edges filter, so it's good to see it used on an image with its neon effect.
I like Georgianne's edit and seeing the original colour of the roses works, although you may like to bring back a little more of the sequinned fabric. |

Hi Georgianne - you've captured the essence of a Japanese-style garden, I can feel its peace and tranquility. Your selective processing of the irises in the foreground and the softer background treatment work well and give me a sense of depth. This is a beautiful image.
Just a thought, I sometimes like to use the sunlight filter in Nik ColorEfex at around a 50% opacity. It adds a soft glow to landscape scenes, and it could elevate the irises (you could lightly mask them with a low opacity brush) and tie everything together, especially with the already warm tones on the beautiful low growing bush by the water. Actually, it's winter here, so I'm loving the warm, summer feel this image gives me! |

Hi Carol, I love what you have done here. You've created a beautiful, soft, romantic feel. You have also brought her eyes out beautifully. It may be just me, but in removing her tattoo, it seems to have created a line on her arm below the shadow area. I also wonder if slightly darkening the strap on her left shoulder behind her hair might be good - it seems to be drawing my eye for some reason.
I think your final colour toning is beautiful and this is a beautiful fine art portrait. |
