Hi Tom - what a fantastic image. I also wouldn't change anything. |

Hi Cindy - I love the dimensionality you've given your image, as the flower fades into the black. It is crisp and the colours are beautiful. I do like your choice of a black background. |

Hi Jessica - you have captured the succulent perfectly - I love its colours. Like Cindy, I find the background a little distracting. I was taught that the eye sees warm colours first and cool colours tend to recede. The background plants are a warm green, so perhaps this is why. Could you experiment with cooling down the green of the background leaves? Then the slight touches of warmth in the succulent will help it stand forward more. I like the background leaves in your crop as they provide me with more of a 3-dimensional context.

Hi Denise - I love this as a moody black and white. It works well with the winter fog and gives me a feeling of winter chill as I sit in our summer heat!
I have been playing with photoshop's neural filters lately. I used the JPG artefact removal filter to reduce noise, without removing it and thereby not softening the entire image. I like the sharp structure of the power lines against the soft fog. I added a 2px Gaussian blur layer just to the fog, and added a small amount of contrast to the top, dramatic part of the sky only. A couple of subtle differences, but you are the artist and it's your story!

Hi Linda - you've done a great job with this image. The trees and grasses show the warm late afternoon sun, and this is reflected in the clouds. I like your decision to composite, the resulting line of birds balances well. Your crop is good and allows us to focus on the story. |

Hi Michael - you've kept your image simple - and interesting. Like Connie, at first I felt the asymmetry of the wheel in the frame was a little disconcerting. On reflection, I think it adds character, and interest. |

Hi Connie. You've created an interesting image - the original looks much too clean and new. Your processing has enhanced the history and removing distracting objects has kept the calm and quiet atmosphere you felt when you were there.
I do like your use of the 'peeling paint' texture, it adds to the story. |

Hi Witta - like Connie and Michael I feel B&W is definitely the way to go to add drama to this image. The silhouetted tree stands out alone against a foreboding sky. I played with different crops, but agree that the negative space adds to the story. |

Hi Carol - You've done a great job with this composite. I like your choice of background with its path, trees and blue wildflowers, and your processing which provides greater dimension.
I also use LUTs, especially in composites to pull the different colour grades together. Sometimes I bring up the blend dialogue and blend only into the shadows, or mid-tones. The late sunset LUT you've used matches the beautiful dress colour with the rest of the image. |

Thanks Connie! I like your vignette, and I will also darken her eye a little. Thanks for your suggestions. I like using the high key look with children especially but need to work on the execution :) |
