Hi Susan - I love what you have done with your image. It reminds me of soft, felted wool. I like that you have left the pod as a feature - it's relative sharpness makes me wonder what's inside.
I also use acrylic sheets for reflection - it gives a wonderful effect for some of my food images. |

Hi Karl. What an interesting and creative image! I was stuck at home sick for a year not so long ago, and at first I thought I had nothing to photograph as I couldn't go outside. However, I soon found endless possibilities and had fun experimenting with everyday things - it actually made me 'see' better as a photographer.
Like Val I would like to see how it works with the sides cropped to the dark shower edges, holding my eye in. I do love the variety of texture and the fun in the image and hope to see more as you experiment - maybe as a series. |

Hi Val - I also like your triptych over the original. You have helped me to see interesting aspects in the whole that tell pieces of a story, rather than to brush it off as another lovely old building.
The old gnarly branches with younger trees behind in the first image suggest old next to new, the centre image focuses me on the building itself and who might have once been there, and the final image with its tyre suggests children, a family.
I do agree with Karl about the ground lines. There is a flow from the first to the second, but the third is a bit disjointed. |

Hi Judith
I also love that you have used black and white - you can feel the 3-dimensional aspect of the leaf. You have enhanced this with the flow of the curve and the diagonal aspect. I love this idea and your finished image. |
