Hi Laurie - great capture. It's not easy to do - but as you say, a lot of fun :)
I shot bubble images last year at my granddaughter's birthday party. It took ages to get anything worth keeping, but I got some interesting images in the end.
I ended up using a tripod. I set auto focus tracking and then shot a burst. That way I just had to focus once, and the camera did the rest. I used my histogram to find the in-camera settings that gave me the widest dynamic range, so I had more to play with in processing. |

What an amazing result you achieved! I love the clarity and detail. I am now inspired to try focus stacking for myself. Thanks for sharing where you got your information from :) |

I like this image a lot, Nelson. I like its colour and simplicity, and the ripples you have added act as an interesting relief. I will have a look at the Flood2 plug-in you used - thanks for sharing!
I too would clone out the few pesky little fibres. |

Cindy - I really love this image. I think your idea of using the texture to focus the viewer works beautifully. There is a lot to see in this image, and you have shot and processed it perfectly! |

I love the colours and shapes in this image. It is lovely and sharp and you have added interest with the water droplets.
I agree with Marcela and would remove the distracting highlights at the top and top left. |

This is a lovely and artistic image, Anurada. Your simple colour palette and minimalist composition work very well.
I also would like to see further simplification with a small removal of vegetation on the right hand side. This would increase the feeling of gazing into the scene. |

Hi Susan, this is a delightful image of your mother. I love the expression you have captured, the soft painterly feel and the colours. You've given it a real feeling of story and personality.
I too would like the nearest eye to be a little less soft. Her expression is so lovely, that I want to connect with her through her eyes! |

Hi Val - I love the black and white treatment you have used. It evokes another time and place. I feel that by showing the number plate and detail of the back of the car, you have made it dynamic, rather than looking out of place facing outwards.
I also would like to see the whole name of Stumbles included. However, to keep the square format, what about fixing the slight perspective anomaly? This would leave the name George, but Stumbles would be less of a distraction, as I wouldn't be trying to work out what it says; holding my focus in the picture, where it should be. Just a thought :) |

Hi Judith - this is a beautiful, soft image. I love the flow, curves and your colours.
I too would try cloning out the lower RH stem to enhance the lovely visual flow across the image, into the seed head.
If you do decide to sharpen specific parts of the seed head, my suggestion would be to use both a curves adjustment with background areas masked, and a non-destructive High-Pass filter with selective masking, linked to the background so it adapts to any future changes, such as re-sizing or blemish removal.
Let me know if you want to know how I do this :) |
