I love the concept - and applaud you for your perseverance on focus stacking. I haven't mastered it either! I agree that three figures and a tighter crop would improve the composition.
I look forward to seeing your image and hearing your comments next month also, when you've done some more experimentation. |

I agree with Laurie and Cindy's comments. I also looked at different crops for this and would crop out the lighter patch at the bottom leaving just a little of the lovely dark texture at the base of the image.
Abstract or landscape? Both images would tell entirely different stories. Try different crops, including more environmental information, and cropping further in, and see what you prefer.

I like the way you have processed this - it's not clear whether it is a monochrome image or whether the owl has very little colour in its feathers. The eyes are amazing with this treatment. |

I really love this image. Its simple and striking. Did you crop it at all? I agree with the comments already posted, but I also wonder if the very tip of the ed leaf in focus ended before the edge, whether that would keep the eye inside the shot. |
