Thanks, Don. You are correct about that tree - much too green. I need to mute that color. And I see what you mean about the floating weeds in the upper left corner. IF I decide to keep this as a "watercolor" image, I need to get rid of that floater. |

Agreed, Cindy. I'll keep the floating weeds, and that tree looks way too green. So I'll tone that down. |

You have inspired me to play around with still-life scenes, Cindy, something I have never attempted. I have seen many of these that you have produced and they are stunning. I wouldn't know what to suggest to make this better. The tweaks and improvements you have made to the original are spot on. Excellent work! |

Don, this may be the simplest, quickest review....I wouldn't change a thing. Well done! |

I would suggest a tighter crop, Charlie, and to bring out the brightness and color in her wardrobe. You are correct about the background curtain being "blah" and adding nothing to the scene. You have captured the dancer in a dynamic mode. The image shows the intricacies of her dancing even though it is a still image. |

Ray, this image seems out of focus and/or blurred. This is a difficult shot to pull off without a tripod because of the large lens and the slower shutter speed. However, when shooting "street scenes", we typically don't have time to set up the shot. The street photos are meant to capture everyday life, and often we want to capture the image without interfering with what the subject is doing at the time. Perhaps a different approach would be a much wider view, showing the person in context to the subway station around him. Maybe showing the hustle and bustle of people going to and from the subway car while he has his head down in his own peaceful world playing his instrument. This would add context to the scene rather than just a tight shot of the person against the wall. |

Excellent choice to convert to B & W, Richard. Leveling the image was needed as well. The shininess and reflectivity of the car looks really nice. In the visual feedback, I took the image and cropped it even tighter, totally focusing on the headlights as anchors on either side and the Mercedes logo as the central focus point. This tighter crop simply eliminates the building and the other car in the background. |
