Isaac, Interesting image of the boy skimboarding. It is sharp and well exposed with nice composition. It might be nice to see the boy actually on the board. I brought a boys soccer team to San Sebastian twice to compete in the Donosti Cup and as a side trip we also visited Biarritz. What a beautiful area this is. Bruce |

Don, You are great at getting the images of the players in the air. I have taken many soccer images and never got one like your last two posts. Bruce |

Gerald, Your image shows a close-up of What the rider goes through and techniques used to navigate around curves. A view not always seen in these types of images. To my eye the composition is fine with just about the right space on the right. Bruce |

Andre, I agree with Isaac, and your technique of showing the environment really shows the difficulty and danger the rider faces, amazing. Bruce |

Ronald, the tight crop really shows the intensity in their faces. For me it also shows the strength it requires to keep you body in a bent over position. I never played field hockey, but taught it to my physical education students and learned how difficult it is to keep bent over for long periods . You image is to me what sports photography is about, that is telling a story and your technique really shows this. Bruce |

Richard, I took a second look at your image and read the others comments so decided to add a bit more to my comments. I like your idea of trying to focus on the talons, eyes and beak. Just for fun, I straightened the horizon and cropped in just a bit more. I also lightened the eye and dodged the whites a bit to make the osprey stand out more. Of course these are only for you as the maker to consider. Bruce

Thanks Maria and Isaac, I think the spots are water spray not dust, they were more clear with better resolution so may be why I did not remove them before posting. Bruce |

Adrian, I was just in Fort Desoto, Florida with a very nice osprey nest down low and easy access. I did not take any images there because there was a large plastic garbage bag and light blue smaller plastic bag built into the nest. For the last month my usual hummingbirds have been missing and yesterday to my relief they returned . It looks like pretty harsh conditions making exposure very challenging, but the scene still makes and interesting view. Bruce |

Hey Karen, welcome to the group 72 nature group, I am looking forward to see more of your images. I have been to this area several time shooting at Santa Clara and Lagoonal Seca . I was not there during the time the cranes are there so have not seen on either. I like how the wings are both in the down position and that there is no converging of the cranes. Your exposure is spot on showing just the right view of the sky. Well done. Bruce |

Richard, you really captured the essence of the action with the closeup view. You did a good job of bringing out the lights from the original. Resolution is to small to print large so phone would be best place to display. Bruce |

Isaac, I just returned from Florida and had three days of photographing Reddish Egrets at Fort Desoto. Amazing place where you can actually get in the water with them as they run around you. I love that you got the bird catching a fish. I have visited Black Point Drive several times and taken some favorite images, but none of Reddish. Well done. Bruce |

Thanks Cindy for the detailed comments. I normally do brighten up the existing catch light but there was not much showing in the original so missed it and do not normally do artificial ones. This was so easy to catch and in fact the hawk let me come outside on my deck only about eight yards away. Bruce |

Thanks Maria, nice to have you in the bird group. The only thing bad about having a coopers hawk visit is that they hunt the birds at my feeders. I had one visit once that sat on a branch only a few inches away from a Stellars Jay , I was feeding peanuts to the jays and each time I would but a peanut out the hawk would fly right next to the jay and try to catch it, The jays were not afraid of it and never caught one. It went on for an hour. The hawk has caught a pigeon and a sparrow. It visits about every six weeks then moves on. Looking forward to seeing more of your images in this group. Bruce |

Cindy, Your image shows the nice patterns under the wings and the needles really add to the interest. I know how difficult it is to get an image when the bird is landing . Great job. Bruce |

Adrian, great shot showing what happens in nature. The chicks only ride on the back for a few days so you timed it just right. I think I like the additional image just as well because you can really see what is happening with the close up view. Bruce |

Sanat, Very nice sharp image showing the beautiful colors of the Ibis. If possible, I would like to see a bit more space on the right side of the image to give the bird space to fly into the frame. Bruce |

I believe that the art of photography is to make the simple look extraordinary and you have certainly done that. Your composition checks all the boxes making the viewer want to look longer. Very well done. Bruce Benson from group 91/72/59 |
