Don, I know what you mean, I shot a high school soccer game last night and the light required to include an ugly storage building Porta Potty in many of the frames. Sometimes you have to just get what you can get. Bruce |

Hey Don, Just for your information, the rules for soccer are also known as laws. I did my Masters degree thesis on the origins of soccer rules which are know as laws. Bruce |

Thanks Ronald, thanks for your comments which always show a depth of experience that is appreciated. For me the players on the side add to the image because of the obvious joy on their faces. Bruce |

For me the fact that the water is hiding the face makes the image. I know that normally seeing the face is essential, but just like my image this month does not have the ball in it, I think that other factors make the image. I have several similar images with water covering the face of moose that hae done well in exhibitions so feel this one would also do just fine. Bruce |

I have only seen a few rugby games and was impressed with the amount of courage it must take to play . The last game I watched was 50 years ago but still remember the two broken arms and a concussion. You captured some good action, image is sharp with good color exposure and composition. I would not include the head, it seems to distract from the action but is also an interesting feature of your image.
By the way will be heading to Florida on 4-19, first to Alligator Farm then to the West coast for FT Desoto, Cape Coral, Venice rookery. Bruce |

Don, A really cool image that I am sure he would like to hang on his wall. I might suggest a little tighter crop to eliminate some of the background. For my eye this creates a stronger image focusing more on superman. Great catch. Bruce |

Hey Andre, I agree with Isaac, you are the master. From a pure technical perspective, I do like the crop from Isaac but see your point of why you included the area on the right. Bruce |

Ronald, The vibrant colors of the players keep my eye focused on them, and the beauty of the scene with the church adds to the impact of the image. Even though there is not much action going on, I'll bet that the players would love to have this one hanging on their wall. I like it. Bruce |

Hey Larry, Nice capture of a nature moment. I am going to the Alligator Farm later in April but am rooting for the egrets. Last year I got a similar image with a roseate spoonbill as the victim. For me the alligators eye and teeth really make this image. Bruce |

Thank you Maria, it is always a thrill to see wolves in Yellowstone, I have been there many times in the winter and fall but only had this one opportunity to photograph them. The conditions were not good, I found them just after sunset so light was not good. Bruce |

Thank you Adrian, it is always special to get close enough to the wolves for decent images. This was right at sunset in Yellowstone and the light was fading fast making it difficult to get a clean image. There were twelve wolves there and they were chasing the crows away from a recent elk kill. Bruce
On a side note, I was happy to see Manchester United finally do something exciting yesterday, it was about time..... |

Adrian, You handled the exposure perfectly, especially considering the bright sky. Composition is spot on as well, well done. Bruce |

Thanks so much Larry, This is what I try to capture in my images. I wrote an article for PSA Journal with the main point being that your images should tell a story and make the viewer think about what is happening. There was an elk carcass near him with many crows but I tried to isolate this one wolf as he was ready to leap in the air. Bruce |

Ron, I try to make my crops fit the scene, for example, a 16x9 crop might not fit an image of a Giraffe since the giraffe is so tall or a scene of a long river might not look good as an 8x10, People are tall and horses are long so each looks better with a different crop. I think your image would have been ok with a 16x19 crop. Of course my thoughts are only suggestions and the maker makes the choices of what to do. Bruce |

Hey Richard, You captured some beautiful birds and interaction. To my eye, the rocks on the left side dominated the image so offer a bit of them cropped off. I also added a bit of contrast to make the birds pop a bit. Bruce |

Hey Maria, nice catch especially to find it on your morning walk. You caught a nice pose with good light to get a sharp well exposed image Well done. Bruce
I added a bit of contrast and darkened the background a bit for you to consider. |

Isaac, great timing to catch this scene. I feel sorry for the poor egret and it's chicks. I captured a similar image of an alligator catching a roseate spoonbill. For a fast reaction image like this you got good exposure, sharpness and composition. A little more contrast might be helpful. Hoping to get some great image in two weeks on our visit to Florida and the Alligator Farm. Bruce |

Jerry, I just got back from ten days in Florida and did not see any anhinga birds. Had good luck at the Alligator Farm, Cape Coral, and Fort Desoto. They are interesting birds especially when they are fishing. The image is well exposed sharp with nice pose. Bruce |

Sanat, another fine image of a bird we do not see here in the USA. Your low perspective adds to the impact. I used adobe Raw to open the shadows a bit just a minor change to reveal some of the nice details in the dark areas. Bruce |

Hey Adrian, I really envy your travels to exotic places for photography. Your bird looks quite similar to my little green heron I posted this month. I might suggest either burning some of the bright bushes on the right side or as I show in my example to just crop off some of it making the bird more prominent in the scene. I realize that you may not have enough resolution to crop but burning would also do the trick. Of course this is only a suggestion for you to consider. Bruce |

Hey Cindy, a real beauty, I wish we had them here in Washington state. I might suggest a tighter crop to eliminate some of the perch which to my eye, distracts from the beauty of the bird. |
