Thanks Isaac, I knew the amputated player was not perfect, but thought that the action outweighed that. I appreciate your kind words. I did get to photograph the Seattle Sounders vs Real Salt Lake game last week. It was my first real sports photography other than rodeo for a long time and realized how difficult it is to get good images even at professional games. It seemed like every opportunity had other players blocking the view. I also drove by my old club facility today and could not resist stopping by to photograph a girls U-17 game. Bruce |

Thanks Ronald, I do carry two lens when shooting professional events, including my 400 2.8 and 70-200 2.8 for closer action. For this one I did not have time to switch to the smaller lens. Bruce |

Thanks Ronald Points taken, Not more space, I was shooting with a prime lens so no zoom to get more space. I also noticed the white tent in the background that could be darkened a bit. I really like the action and expressions in this one so overlooked the negatives. Bruce |

Gerald, another amazing surfing image. Thee are many things to like in the image. The size of the wave, the spray, the color of the water, the position of the surfer, are all interesting. It makes you want to know what happened to the surfer. I actually like the helmet because the bright color leads the eye to the important subject, the surfer. By all means you should enter this one into competitions. Bruce |

Hey Ronald, Great action with you image. Thee are many things to create interest to the viewer. The faces, the tight grip of the blue girl on the ball and the player, the flying hair, are all great. I like the square crop.
The background is a bit distracting, not much you an do about it.
Really nice image, thanks for sharing it.

Hans, Wow and great image of airplanes performing. Your exposure is spot on especially looking up into a bright sky. It is tack sharp with a good composition. The planes darker than the sky make them really pop. Well done.

Marie, Thanks for the comments. You have a good eye for details, I did not see that but it is even more evident in full resolution. Bruce |

Isaac, As soon as I saw your image I knew it was from Blue Cypress Lake. I think I have an image of an Osprey taking off from the same branch. I have been there four times and hope to go again. You image inspired me to copy you and post an osprey from there as well. The guides are awesome and even recognize individual birds and how the react. The bird taking off straight at you in addition to the fish adds to a great pose. Bruce |

Hey Adrian, What an awesome opportunity to go on your cruise. I will look forward to many more great images after you can process them. Maria did a great job of making the bird stand out from the background, especially the eye.

Hey Marie, You caught a nice moment with the fish in the air creating interest for the viewer. I Like the glistening ice and the circle formed by the melting ice. You even got a cool reflection. I do prefer the original with the textures and shadows . Bruce |

Maria, Your Low perspective really makes this a nice image. It has created a beautiful background with a shallow depth of field. I like the square crop and the reflection. Here in the USA we have a similar bird named Pied Billed Grebe. I use an app on my phone called I Bird Pro paired with a portable speaker to broadcast the call of them. There are over 700 different calls on the app and the grebe's will come close to check it out. I am careful not to use the call very much so it does not disturb them. |
