Hey Ronald, Your comments are very interesting to me, since I grew up knowing nothing about soccer. As a physical education major in college, I was required to take a soccer class and even thought the instructor did not know much about soccer I was required to attend a match. I was instantly impressed even during the warm up with the skills and was decided I would like to try playing. Interestingly, my first club team was the Greek team named Hellas. Eventually the players disagreed about something and split into two teams the other names Apollo. The hated each other and made several ball fouls on me when the met in the league. Bruce |

Hey Kerry, I think you did a pretty good job to recover some of the detail from such dark image. For me Han's version looks pretty unnatural. The bright sun conditions made it very difficult to get a good exposure and think you made the right choice to underexpose. I think a little more action such as a jump, or more wake from Jed would make a stronger image. I do not know anything about wake boarding so not sure the type of action they perform. Bruce |

Gerald, I agree with your choice of location. The few basketball games I have shot at always pose the question where to stand. You got peak action with all faces visible. Minimal distractions with help keep attention on the players. In my opinion you should be accepted in competitions. Bruce |

Isaac, interesting image this month. You might get a comment from the lady who complained about the strap on the bull on my image last month. She might not like the suffering of the bait fish. Your image certainly tells a story and that is what we all strive to do in our images. Bruce |

Hey Ronald, Happy new year. Not knowing anything about cricket, I still like your image. The triangle formed by the three players makes a nice composition with good action shown by two of the players. It is nice to see images from the other side of the world. I think here in the USA we tend to think we are the only ones who count. Soccer is making a dent here with occasional attendance of 80,000 at MLS games. I think that the media along with baseball, football and basketball officials are nervous about the growing popularity of soccer. There are actually more registered youth soccer players than baseball players here in the USA. |

Hans, Happy new year and hope it is a good one for you. I like your image, you did a great job panning and keeping the lead person in focus and blurring the background to show motion. I like the way the panning makes it appear that the lead person is leaving the second place in the dust. Really well done. Bruce |

Hey Adrian, When your image showed up on my screen I swore that it is my image. You are correct, I think my tripod legs were in the same place as yours. I grew up 90 miles from Jackson Hole and have been there many times looking for the perfect sky, still looking. Your composition is pretty much identical to mine I even have the same image with bison in the foreground. On my screen there is a pretty strong magenta color cast. Bruce |

Mary, what a great idea, I am not a really creative person so when I see this image I appreciate it a lot. Well done. Bruce |

Hey Maria, I envy you being able to enjoy good weather there. We have had severe weather here in Washington state including much rain, snow, freezing rain, and cold temperatures. I also like the blue tone of the image. The ripples make a nice frame for the duck. I cropped your image to make a place more emphasis on the duck as a for you to look at. Not really sure if this makes a difference. Bruce |

Isaac, interesting that we both chose a horse image with the stallion imposing himself. I would love to visit Iceland some day but not sure it will happen. I tried a crop which eliminates the two horses on the right for you to see. For me the horses on the right do not add much to the image and draw my eye away from the stallion. |

Marie, A beautiful image that goes along with your PSA article. The image has many things that make it great. The leading lines from the bridge, and shoreline, the nice sunset, the light reflecting in the cabin windows, and nice foreground all combine to make it stand out. Really well done. Congratulations again for you nice PSA article. Bruce |

Barbara, Cattle egrets can be seen all around the world following grazing animals such as water buffalo, elephants, antelope . I travel to the Alligator Farm in Florida during the breeding season to photograph them. During that time the males have beautiful red and purple color around their beaks. As Isaac said, your image is simple, yet tells an interesting story with the relationship of two species. Well done. Bruce |
