Thanks Isaac, I am aware that the strap is not used to make the bulls buck and not sure why she found it necessary to make the comment. When I photograph the rodeo, I gain a new respect for both the animals and the cowboys/girls. Bruce |

Hey Gerry, do really like the original 2 with the dog for the story , but also like your posted image because of all the tension created for the possible collisions that could happen. Bruce |

Hey Kerry, As someone who is old, grey and infirm I have first hand knowledge of the challenges of competing. Besides photography I gave up competing many years ago. I did play soccer until I was 65 though. I do walk about three miles a day but do not try to beat anyone. You have captured the high drama and tension of lawn bowling with as Ronald said the concentration, steady hand and weight of release. Bruce |

Isaac, Technically a very good image. Sharp, good composition, no other distracting extra players. As Hans said it is unusual to not have the bleachers in the background for basketball image. For me that action is pretty static for a competition image. Bruce |

Hey Ronald. The blur of the arm does not bother me just as the blurred wings of a bird in flight do not bother me. I would like to see a more dramatic action in the image to create more interest. By the way, I enjoyed watching the Socceroos at the world cup. Bruce |

Hans, You image shows the extreme conditions of the game however as Ronald indicated a little more context would help. You might consider cropping to a 16x9 to eliminate the red tape and everything above it since it does not add anything to the image. Bruce |

Hey Marie, I just received my issue of PSA Journal and was delighted to see your awesome article. What a great job you did describing the area, including very nice images as well. The article makes me want to visit your "Backyard".
Congratulations on a great achievement Bruce |

Thanks Mary, being so close with the background far away really creates a beautiful blur with my 400 2.8 lens. |

Hi Marie, I hope my post did not sound to critical. The study groups are made up of photographers with many interests so it is difficult to know what each person is looking of in their replies. I only enter a few select international salons so am mostly looking for general critique. Many of my posts are images that I like for myself because I was there and had an experience with the subject. Again I hope you know that I always enjoy your posts and can see your love of photography as I do. Sincerely, Bruce |

Adrian, lucky you to visit so many awesome places recently. This are seems to be one of those places that is so beautiful yet difficult to capture the full scale in a photograph even at 16mm. For my eye the large amount of foreground distract from the mountains and makes it difficult to narrow down a subject.

Marie, A nice image of the female cardinal. Technically, however I agree with Isaac that There needs to be some action or other factor to add interest. Bruce |

Isaac, Lucky you to have the opportunity to visit Churchill. You have captured a nice pose from all three bears Exposure is right on, nice and sharp as well. The background is not the best but not much you can do to change that. Overall wish it was my image. Bruce |

Barbara, what a cute little owl. I love the owl but the background does not do much for me. A lower perspective would have made the background softer, also opening up from F7.1 would have helped but still kept the face in focus. The top of the owl is pretty close to the edge of the frame and it looks like there is more space in the original. I used the dodge tool to brighten the eyes a get a little catch light. |
