Isaac, I can't remember where you went in Katmai. I a similar image taken at Brooks Falls. You caught a tender moment in the tough life of these bears making it a special image. The light looks a little harsh to me in the edited version. I toned down the light with Raw selective edit to see if that helped. You are lucky to have the opportunity to witness this with the added benefit of capturing such a great image of the moment. Bruce |

Adrian, I had to wonder about where this was taken until I read your description. For me the dramatic sky, and the water in the pool make the image, as Marie said the pool water leads you into the ocean. I like your B&W conversion. Agree with Isaac about the pool surface and the quality of cell phone cameras. This is a really nice image and glad you did not go to your cabin for your regular gear. Bruce |

Marie, What a great image you have. The fanned tail sets it apart from the ordinary humming bird image. For a large crop it is really sharp. Love it. Bruce |
