Bud, Have family in Idaho Falls, only 90 miles from Jackson and West Yellowstone and drove to Jackson but did not stop to look for wildlife. I also drove from Idaho Falls all the way through Yellowstone and back in one day 350 miles total. I only saw five cow elk, and twenty bison and about three million people. Not much fun for photography. I have been to Yellowstone in February several times and the last time it was just the same with hundreds of people at a wolf kill. I had to walk about a mile to find a parking place and it was -16. Good luck on your next trip there. Bruce |

Bud I am just visiting from group 72 and could not help but notice your moose image. It appears to be in the Grose Ventre area where I have photographed moose many times. I even had a moose pee on my tent in the campground one trip. I like the way your depth of field setting blurred out the foreground and background. Bruce Benson |

I
Ronald, very interesting information, I have seen a few Ausie rules games on TV but otherwise know nothing about it. Thanks for showing these images. Bruce |

Hey Isaac, great image to start off your joining this group. Lucky you to have the chance to photograph as a non pro photographer. Your image is really sharp and perfectly exposed. I like the square crop with no distractions in the background. It makes me glad that I do not have to guard Labron, or provide him with milk. Bruce |

Gerry, I agree with Hans that your images show your knowledge of photographing basketball. I especially like being able to see the faces of all the main subjects. As I said in my PSA article, there are several stories being told such as the shooter, and the player in green holding on to his opponent. The separation of the two green players also makes the image better. Well done. Bruce I see that Isaac Vaisman is joining our group. He is also in my nature group and will be a nice addition. |

Hans, really nice football image. The colors are bright and really grab your attention. You can see the eyes of nearly every player and even the pose of the player with the ball is great. The frame is pretty tight at the top but still ok. I can see why it won an award. Bruce |

Hi Isaac, You can still get a similar experience for viewing eagles in Homer, however you have to go in at boat . Perfect light Camera in Idaho Falls does tours there and Christopher Balmer does a good job with his tours. https://www.internationaltravelphotographyworkshop.com/ |

Adrian, I have always wanted to see a Gannet. I love seeing them diving after fish on Nat Geo TV. I agree with Isaac and his ideas for PP. Bruce |

Marie, Wow what a nice image from such a small section of the frame. The small open area frames the image perfectly. Ears up, eyes with catch light and looking at you all add interest. Color and sharpness are great. Bruce |

Hey Randy, I have never seen a wolf in Teton NP, in fact last winter was the first time I saw wolves in Yellowstone. I have been there many times, in fact when I was 23, I drove a produce truck all the way from Idaho Falls through the Yellowstone and back three days a week. I did see a pack of 12 last winter but the kill was nearly gone and light was not good for photography. I would choose the tighter crop from Isaac, because it eliminates some of the distracting out of focus weeds. Bruce |

Thanks Isaac, There are guides who take you out into Kachamak Bay in boat and you can get close ups of the eagles, but it is quite expensive. This takes place in February/March. The eagles at her compound were still very wild but not afraid of the photographers. I was interested to see that you have joined the same sports group that I am in. Will look forward to seeing some of your images. bruce |

Isaac, Your image brings back memories of my trips to Katmai and how much fun they were. I like the square crop and it is technically spot on. The pose is great and made me smile with the tongue sticking out. The rain adds to the image as well. Will look forward to seeing more of your bear images. By the way, welcome to the sports group 59 that I also belong to. Bruce |

Mary, Your underwater photography always impresses me. I have always hated being underwater, especially since I have had several surgeries on my ears several times. Your conversion with Silver Effects Pro is just right. The background is nice and sharp. |

Mitch, I have been to Anan Creek several times and enjoyed seeing your image. I have heard Anan described as a hole with bears in it because it is so dark with mist from the falls making it difficult to get shutter speed and exposure. I also like the way the cubs would climb the trees right next to the platform and even had one come down and jump inside the fence. The ride to the area is interesting, Breakaway Adventures was great. I live in Tacoma, Washington and you can actually fly out of Seattle at 6:00am on the milk run and after a stop in Ketchikan they will pick you up at the airport and jet boat to Anan for five hours of great bear photography then get you back for the 7:00pm flight to Seattle by 10:00pm. I am just visiting from Nature group 72 and had to comment on your image. I have attached an image of a cub in the tree next to the platform for you to look at. Bruce Benson |
