Thanks Bob, I have not entered this image in any competition and after comments here most likely will not. People tend to post things that they like themselves and sometimes miss weaknesses in the image because of that.
I did not learn about football until my university days when I was required to take a football class and it did not take long for me to appreciate what a beautiful game it is. If you did not grow up with it or play it you might think of it being boring. Once you try the skills you learn how difficult it is to play. More than a billion watch the world cup and love the game and it has become one of the most popular sports in the USA for youth. If you did not grow up with baseball you might think of it being the most boring game in the world. I agree with you about the flop, I guess it has become part of the game especially in certain countries.

Hey Isaac, nice to see you on the Sports forum. That was a typo and was actually 1/1250 not 1/250 |

Thanks Hans and Ron for your comments. I am normally really aware of not getting face in my images, I think I overlooked this because there were so many other faces showing involvement in the action, plus the action of Karli showing perfect technique. |

Hans, Wow your image really grabs your interest. I also like the vertical crop since the zebra players do not seem to be in the action. Nice job, and glad you were able to get out and shoot again. Bruce |

Gerry, Your image shows good action and I like the second figure in the background. To me the splashing water adds to the scene, but also obstructs the face of the subject so is also distracting. I have the same problem with many of my Grizzly bear photos catching fish in the river them shaking the water from their fur. I had a bear image win a highly honored award from Natures Best Magazine from 35,000 entries and entered it in my local club competition and only go 2 votes out of 50. I would enter your image again . Bruce |

Hey Ron, I like the muscle definition shown in both the arms and thighs. I have to agree with Hans and would like to see more action in the image. It seems more like a portrait or bird on a stick nature image. |

Walt, I am with Adrian, It does make you look to see what it is but without having been there or having a description it did not hold my interest. Bruce |

Mary, Your image is interesting with many colors, and subjects. The dive buddy in the background really makes you look at the image. Bruce |

Thanks Randy, yes Hector was there. He suggested 1/3500 but have had good success staying over 1/1000 over the years. It seems like whoever offers the best deal determines what equipment experts promote. Example being Art Morris who got booted from Canon and immediately said it sucks and then Nikon was the best, now Sony is tops. They are all good for those who are skilled. By they way, Nice article about the grizzly bears in Teton NP. I keep that article handy and have read it several times. I grew up in Idaho Falls so am very familiar with Yellowstone and Tetons. Thanks Isaac, yes this was taken from a photo blind where you get sick of cardinals providing so many opportunities for good shots of them. The blind is dug into the ground so cameras are at ground level like a baseball dugout. There is a small pond just in front attracting the birds to drink in the hot Texas sun. |

Adrian, you captured a really great moment with this interaction. The background is nicely blurred and snow adds to the story. Well done. Bruce |
