Joe, just visiting from sports group 59, Marti commented on one of my images there so am visiting his group. I visit St Augustine to shoot at the Alligator Farm almost every year and have seen the old school several times but never photographed it.. Your image technique to blend the images is very cool. I did not notice the problem with the roof until I read some of the comments. Well done. Bruce Benson Groups 59 sports and 72 Nature. |

Marti, Thanks for your comment on my soccer poster. I thought I would check out your group. It looks like you have a lot of good comments and creative ideas in the group. I live in Tacoma, Washington and was in the Palouse exactly a year ago. What a great area with so many beautiful scenes. I like your sky replacement and noticed the problem Peggy broght up. I have encountered with my images from the Palouse. When I zoom in I can see artifacts left of the power lines in the lower left just above the horizon. You can see them even in the last edited version by Jerry. Thanks again for your comments on my poster. By the way, I will be gong back to the Palouse in two weeks. Bruce Benson

Thanks Joseph, for taking time to comment on my poster image. I was an elementary PE teacher for many years and took many photos of my students playing soccer. I have been retired for 12 years now and still run into former students at garage sales in my neighborhood who have the posters I made for them. Bruce |

Marti, thanks for taking the time to comment on my image. I took this many years ago and was very much a beginner at photography so did not understand much about it. Your comments make sense now and would try to avoid the close text. I did not know then how to create more canvas but it would be an easy fix now. Bruce |

Hans, Your you picked a perfect location to set up for this one. The image really shows the power thought the bent pole the muscles and the look on the vaulters face. The totally black background looks a little strange to me but overall a really nice image. Bruce |

Gerald, I Like the view of all the different surfers body positions and the mist coming off the top of the wave. For me the March image is a stronger because of the composition. in this image the surfer on the left is really close to the edge. The action in the images makes is a strong image, however to me the March image is the better one. Bruce |

Randy, Second image is great, really shows good action, is sharp and well composed. You can only get a close as your back and the animal will allow you. Bruce |

Hey Marie, I like what Isaac did with your image. I did not think of black and white to remove the color cast. It is amazing what other people can see . Bruce |

Adrian, I always say an image should tell a story and you captured a great one here. You PP was spot on and agree with the others regarding the tail feathers . The vertical line formed by the hillside is also a nice touch. I have always wanted to see gannets so seeing a nice image like this will do nicely

Thanks Marie, this is a great place to get images of bears in the trees. There is a viewing platform next to the falls and you can go below into a blind right next to the falls where the bears are gathering to catch fish. Tall trees surround the viewing platform and the cubs scamper up them when ever a male bear shows up. One time a bear was coming down from a tree which was right next to the viewing platform and go off inside the barrier. The rangers had to chase it out as we al watched. Bruce |

Mari, You captured good action and the size of the fish adds to it. Sorry I do not care for the high key treatment on this one. The the blue colors are changed to purple and other than the eye, the rest is quite soft. Your crop is good, eliminating the dead fish. The original appears to underexposed quite a bit. I tried to work on the original to make it high key, but could not make it work. Sorry to be negative, but trust you want honest opinions as I do with my posts. Bruce |

Isaac, Flamingos are always a beautiful subject I took the image back into raw and applied a small amount of dehaze filter to reduce the brightness of the lights. The composition seems a little strange to me with the vertical body and neck extending to the left. I would like to see it as a vertical format since the bird is tall and not wide. Nice image overall. Bruce |
